When I lost a cylinder or two it was the ECU ignition chips. That was an MBE unit though, apparently susceptible to it once past a certain age.

Check the coil loom.

Most likely cause will be a break in the wiring feeding that cylinder COP. If you've got a meter then check for continuity to the ECU plug as per wiring diagram. Caterham are aware of engine harness problems and might send you a new one if you ask them.

Or it could be the injector wiring. I had that on my car.

I'm with Mic on this one, I reckon it's the coil loom.

Shortly after I built mine (same as yours) I had one outing where the car ran rough as hell. At first I thought it was fuel related but after unplugging and re plugging various bits and taking the coils in and out plus the leads to them, the car ran perfectly well again after that.

The looms aren't very well protected so there's a chance you've got a break or intermittent connection at least to one of the cylinders. Certainly the advise I got on the Lotus 7 forum at the time was that the looms are prone to problems. I seem to remember someone saying at the the time that there is an upgraded, race spec one you can purchase as an upgrade. Anyone know if this is true?

I'd start by taking everything apart etc and fiddling with all the wiring to see if that gets it going again.
