No, never.

It's not for the customer to make up Wages because the employer want to short their staff to make greater profits.

I always try and use companies that give a fair wage to their staff.
Of course we believe you research the wages of delivery drivers before ordering a take away.

That's sarcasm by the way. Tight liar.
You make a statement about me, and then claim that statement is about me is a lie, and somehow I'm the liar. rolleyes
Here's a tip, keep off the sauce.

Blind by name, blind by nature.
Squandering liar.
Below is a list of all the people who believe that you research the wages of the low paid workers in any food establishment before you buy food from them:

Mr. Pink: Uh uh, I don’t tip. No, I don’t believe in it. … Don’t give me that, if she don’t make enough money she can quit. … I don’t tip because society says I have to. All right, I mean I’ll tip if someone really deserves a tipping, if they really put forth the effort, I’ll give them something extra, but I mean this tipping automatically, it’s for the birds. I mean as far as I’m concerned they’re just doing their job. … She was okay. She wasn’t anything special. … Look I ordered coffee all right? Now we’ve been here a long fkin’ time, she’s only filled my cup three times. When I order coffee I want it filled six times. … The words “too fkin’ busy” shouldn’t be in a waitress’ vocabulary. … Jesus Christ, these ladies aren’t starving to death. They make minimum wage. I used to work minimum wage and when I did I wasn’t lucky enough to have a job that society deemed tip worthy. … You know what this is? It’s the world’s smallest violin playing just for the waitresses. … So is working at McDonald’s but you don’t feel the need to tip them do you? Well why not? They’re serving you food. But no, society says don’t tip these guys over here, but tip these guys over here. That’s bullst. … fk all that. … I mean I’m very sorry the government taxes their tips. That’s fked up. That ain’t my fault. I mean it would appear that waitresses are one of the many groups the government fks in the ass on a regular basis. I mean show a piece of paper that says the government shouldn’t do that, I’ll sign it, put it to a vote, I’ll vote for it, but what I won’t do is play ball. And this non-college bullst I got two words for that: learn to fking type, ’cause if you’re expecting me to help out with the rent you’re in for a big fking surprise.

I'd happily support any company was paying their staff better and sticking £1 onto the cost of your takeaway. I suspect no company like that exists though.

As would I... but only if it was the take-away that I actually wanted. Plus nobody in the real world would actually feel strongly enough about it to take surveys of salaries of delivery staff.

I never said I did. You seem to have concocted that in your own mind and gone off on one about it. Typical female mentality.

Nothing in there about researching delivery driver wages before ordering a takeaway, nothing at all. In fact I never mentioned deliveries or takeaways whatsoever.

Having worked as a Pizza Hut delivery rider while studying at uni, I can tell you tips go a very long way towards wages. We're not all wasters!

It's one of the worst jobs in the world. You have to ride, rain, wind or shine, hot and cold and most of the time it's the latter. During my job I was mugged, punched, kicked, had my pizzas stolen, had my scooter stolen, had food taken away from me at the door and not paid (being threatened by the council estate kids), been knocked off my bike on purpose and fallen off in the snow.

Short of the long is, it's horrific.

Above all that, you do try to smile and get pizzas to customers on time but sometimes it simply doesn't work out. Through all this, the tips as I said, go a long way.

And, yes I tip.

What I don't understand is how they get away with charging up to £20!!!! for what is essentially a st pizza!!!! It can't cost more than £5 to make that.....if that!

Wifes boyfriend is a head chef for a Gastro pub, their biggest mark up food item is a margarita pizza which sells for £8, it actually costs 39p to make it.

WTF is wrong with you? I don't know if you are trying to wind me up or something but you're just coming across as completely retarded.
No doubt you'll have another random 'list' post in response.
Very bizzare.

Does anyone ever pay the basic price for a takeaway pizza? There's always a 2 for 1 deal or something that brings them down to less silly prices, though why they can't sell them at those prices in the first place I don't understand.

A tenner for what is essentially a crap pizza is terrible. I never actually paid for a pizza while I worked at Pizza Hut so I guess I was oblivious to the prices.

But you can buy some really decent pizzas from the supermarket for a quarter of the price and in Europe (Spain, Austria, Germany), you can order a large pizza and coke for just €6....delivered.

Went to a fantastic pizza restaurant in Sardinia, three big pizzas, 2 Sprite's, 2 beers and half a bottle of wine, all for under 30 euros.

I used to do deliveries a few years ago.

Oddly I used to get tipped about 2.5x as much delivering Indian food compared to a chip shop.

Not sure if people see an Indian as more of a treat and tip more? confused

What a st article. Ignoring the fact they go on about bartenders as one of their tips, they've also got this :

"2. Build a Relationship

By tipping someone at a restaurant, you’re developing a relationship with them. They’ll start to remember you as a regular, and a generous, customer. Think of it as showing your support for their restaurant and skills."

Thats nonsense. The owner will remember you a regular customer when he keeps seeing your name, address and regular orders coming up on his screen. He's not going to know or care that the delivery driver came back with an extra pound coin in his pocket is he?

Just-eat have a cheek sticking their 2p worth in as far as tips go anyway laugh They must have absolutely battered delivery drivers income now that orders can be paid online. I can't imagine they actually drive any real volume of new sales. Not enough to offset all the lost tips of people now using a card to pay it anyway.

That must mean you're ordering from rubbish places like Pizza Hut Express and Dominos - their pizzas are absolutely dire and massively overpriced. If they didn't put those price-slashing deals on people wouldn't bother.

Depends if you have to pay for delivery, my local very good Chinese charges £1 extra for delivery, driver gets no tip. Kebab house is free delivery, normally tip a quid or two.
