problems with convers+ speedo display...

I just fitted a convers+ dash into my wifes 07/08 galaxy.
Easy enough job, turned on the ignition and its comes on but only shows up 2 options.
The radio volume level shows up, but no further radio or phone or satnav info or options..
Have I bought a faulty convers+ unit?
Does it need to be reset or syncd with the head unit in the car somehow??
I have read on the net that a few people have had the radio option ect disappear before,
but I have tried turning off the ignition and or the radio etc which has had no effect
Anyone got any ideas else can I do to fix it?
