Just purchased 3mm front wheel spacers, the concern i have is that the spigot that the wheel locates on is dramatically reduced and is only 2mm deep. Has anyone else had worries with this, as the spigot takes the brunt of the load ?

The spigot doesn't take the brunt of the load. It is purely location while the wheel is tightened. If your wheel is moving to the point where it is putting a heavy load on the spigot there is a serious problem elsewhere.

I am thinking I may too need some small spacers on my front wheels as my brake upgrade has no clearance !! Loss of the lip to support the wheel is not ideal so I have a plan to fix the spacer to the wheel with counter sunk Allen bolts plus dowel pins this should help support the wheel. But this is only my way of thinking at the moment. Richard

Agreed you need something there to locate the wheel position. The conical wheel nuts alone shouldn't be relied on to locate the wheel on the correct centre. As long as something is there the wheel nuts should hold the wheel tightly to the hub and stop movement.

Have you considered "hub centric spacers"? These have same lip as the hub to centre the wheel .
I have them on My Chim with 12mm spacers.

Thats right Geoff. I thought that at the beginning. But obviously bore size for size you wont have the thickness to accomodate the fit.

Also I have fitted them not seemed to make a dramatic difference. Its an 02 plate. Am I right I thinking the steering rack spacers make a difference? What thickness should they be?

And if the other T cars are the same chassis and wishbones do they not suffer with the same issues?

My early Mk1 with later front end setup needed c.8mm rack spacers. I think the factory put 10mm spacers on all later Cerbs and T cars.
