My 2006 e92 Navigation screen went on the blink this morning.
Left the car for 10 minutes and when I returned noticed the screen was grey with horizontal white lines on even though the fob was not in the ignition.
Cannot change any settings through idrive.
Radio works however just a grey screen and even when the car is locked the screen stays on.
Took the car to the dealership as this has to be sorted because the battery will go flat and awaiting their diagnosis.
Any ideas what to expect guys ?

Something similar happened with my E60 M5 and the unit had to be replaced.

Thanks for the response, yes just called them to see whats what and they said most probably the screen needs replacing and none about so have to wait a couple of weeks for it to come from Germany.

Pull the fuse and force it to reset.

I have an extended warranty, first time its going to be used in 5 yrs or so.
Had a call and they said they could fit one tomorrow and reprogram so has to be there all day all under warranty.
Service bloke spoke to earlier said they did not have any and would take a couple of weeks so one appeared out of somewhere.

If it is grey with a line though it I would have thought it is the nav unit, not the monitor.

As I said, pull the fuse and reset it, this is what they do wen they crash.

What you say makes sense giz, its not like its missing pixels or something simillar.
Let them sort it out as its not costing anything and the bonus is they are putting a sofware update which has not been done for a long time.
