What it says above. Me and wifey are off to Jersey for three days at end of next week. We like our food (esp seafood). We like special places but are happy to go to ordinary restaurants known for good local fare. We are not big drinkers so a lavish wine list is all but lost on us. Expensive is nice but not necessary. M'Lady's birthday is happening whilst we are there and it would seem opportune to take her to a properly good seafood restaurant for the plat de fruits de mer. Since I may be spoilt for choice, can anyone recommend a nice venue/s?

Cheers!

Where are you staying out of interest.

Oyster Box at St Brelades for fish
La Siesta in St Helier for tapas
La Taverna in St Helier for Italian
Banjo's in St Helier does nice fish
Ormer in St Helier is fantastic but pricey
Indian Ocean or Jaipur in St Helier for a good curry
Gradees in St Helier for their famous prawns in black beam sauce
Manos, Mila Flores or Tropical Bistro in St Helier for stunning Potuguese food.
La Capinina in St Helier for proper silver service but very pricey.
El Tico at St Oeuns for great food breakfast lunch and dinner, good price and panoramic views of the beach.

Never had a fruit de mer here but there is a fish restaurand in West Centre St Helier but I cannot think of the name.

As you probably can tell I live on Jersey. Want any more tips just ask smile

What a great response Megap! Thanks so much. We are staying in St Brelades (hotel with pool and spa and a lovely view of the beach - its pretty much on the beach I think!). My wife was taken there as a young girl and I have not been to either of the islands so thought it might be a nice way to spend a weekend just relaxing and taking in the scenery.

We shall certainly check out some of your suggestions. Many thanks again fella.

Is it St Brelades Bay Hotel? my dad is the head restaurant manager there. But then it could be Hotel L'Horizon by your description.

Either way your in for a treat and both hotels are 1 to 3 minutes walk from the Oyster Box Restaurant.

Enjoy your stay and don't forget to spend your £1 notes and other Jersey notes before you go home.
