Just had a phone call from my girlfriend to say she was driving home from the gym in the Chimaera, when a Saxo VTR/S with blacked out windows pulled alongside, passenger window came down and both driver and passenger gave her the devil hand signal (y'know, index and little finger up, middle two held down by thumb)

That sort of thing never happens to me.

My wife always gets more comments/compliments when she's out in the Cerbera then I ever do...

I'm not bothered about attracting men.
There's been the odd glance from girls though - not sure I'd want a girl that likes me for my car,
..then again - something for the weekend?

I had someone in a Boxster flash their lights at me last night. Mind you, they were probably trying to change gear or something

Not me, mate. Just doing boring commutes (Basingstoke-Reading) at the moment

Maybe that's why the Boxster flashed!

Ahhhh the devil hand signal. I wondered what that was. Was driving towards Chichester last week and a guy in a black Rover 200 leant over his steering wheel and did that to me - I was most put out at the time!
Also had a guy on a Hog pull up behind me at aroundabout last night and just gave me a knowing nod, then as the lights turned he move to the left filter lane (which was empty when he pulled up) nodded again and rode off - first bit of biker contact I've had. He must had just liked the sound.

We have a had few nods from Bikers as well, especially last Sunday on the M25 - thousands of them coming back from Brands I think

I let a chap cross the road the other day when I was approaching some traffic lights - he smiled and said "Nice Car Mate!" - Made me feel good!

Yeah - I had the same from a guy on a very tasteful Harley in Holland Park recently.
I also laughed out loud about the Boxster flashing his lights . . .

Good responses from bikers, eh?
Not surprising given the fact that 99%, in my experience, possess those rare qualities amongst many these days, namely pleasantness, courtesy and manners.
In complete contrast to some trilby wearing psycho 60 year old in a Rover 414i.

I was at a car show a year or so ago when I heard an excited voice saying 'look Daddy TVR!' and pulling a resigned father in my direcion. The boy was only about 4 but he had taste!

On a different note, it's amusing when leftie numpties deliberately look the other way. 'Oh no, there's something nice but it will corrupt my ideals and add to global warming, I shall look over here instead...'

When I'm out in the Griff, two things happen which I never experience in any of the other (lesser!) cars I drive:

Cars in front of me on country roads slow down and indicate to let me pass, even though I don't drive up to them aggressively and make "get out of my way" noises (honest!).

Men in trucks or white vans do a double-take, often followed by a quick flash of their lights.

Cool car! I could get used to all this attention...
