Thinking of a corsa or borla for the z06. Do any of you chaps/ ladies have one? And if so is there some where in the uk i could buy or order?
Also do you think there worth the money?
They do sound good standard.

One important thing to bear in mind when starting to mod a C6Z06 is that, even in standard form, it is a car which skirts very closely the limits of social acceptability here in the UK - those flaps in the exhaust are there for a purpose!

Changing the back boxes alone, to either Corsas or Borlas, will give perhaps a few more BHP at the cost of generating a lot more noise.

Now, whilst one might not care about edging closer towards the threshold of 'annoying the neighbours, or the local fuzz' - Corsas or Borlas will probably take you past the threshold of annoying the noise meters held by officials at you local track day.

Of course track days may not be your thing - then well, Corsas sound fine by me!

Beware of the dreaded drone generated by some aftermarket system at cruising speeds around the UK legal limit - drone is an exhaust induced resonance, which reverberates adound the cockpit, and is a pain in the 'ear' over long distances!!!
Corsa back boxes are pretty drone free.

If track days are 'your thing', then the C6Z06 if just the machine for you, and there are some mods other than the exhaust well worth making if that is the case wink

For all your Corvette import needs you can look nowhere better that Keith at Eurovettes - a very helpful chap - recommended

My vote goes for the Corsa system. Very high quality stuff. Borlas are good but I prefer the look of Corsas.

Si, take her in a tunnel, drop her into second and floor it and you'll
find out why I left the exhaust stock, what am I still doing on here?? frown

Also the drone of just the stock pipes all open can get a little boring on a long run

Hope you're loving it

My Z06 had a sports exhaust when I got it (Corsa I think). Although I loved the sound at first ,the neighbours were nt over the moon.
It was fine locally but I soon realised I could nt live with the "droning" noise on the motorway.
I put the system back to standard and had a remote operation for the exhaust flaps fitted.
Now I can have a bit of "noise" when I want it and keep the neighbours happy as well.

Mild to Wild ,you are right . i forgotten the technical term!
Easy to fit and a lot cheaper than a Corsa or Borla.

The 'flaps' on the factory standard system are there primarily to enable the car to pass drive by noise regulation tests, and also to allow the car to operate quietly when cruising at and around the legal limit.

When closed, they isolate one tailpipe in each silencer box and exhaust flow is restricted - they act as a secondary baffle - and noise is reduced.

The flap operating system is activated by a signal from the ECU/BCM

In normal driving modes the flaps open at around 3000 rpm as far as I remember - in Comp mode at around 2500rpm, and then the system then exhausts through the four tailpipes.

As 6th gear is an extremely long ratio on the standard C6z06 box around - 45mph/1000rpm - when the car is cruising along at the legal limit the flaps are closed and thus the car interior remains quiet.

If you just want more noise, then you can buy, quite cheaply, accessories called 'mild to wild' switches.

These are simple to install and operate, and will allow you to overide as you wish the control signal and operate the flaps in whatever way you want

Forgive my lack of knowledge, so that switch is not standard? Is that the car basically open exhausts at low
Revs instead of the 3500 rpm switch?
