Although this is supported by the TVRCC it is not a TVRCC event so you do not have to be a member to join us at Spa for all / part of the weekend wink

There will be more cars than the 38 mentioned above - the French and Dutch TVRCCs usually turn up with 10-12 cars as well.

Are you doing the Parade Laps...? They're thoroughly recommended driving

Hope to see you there.

Cheers,
L'rs

No Daz, its a parade lap before the main racing at Spa Francorchamps race circuit. They have a weekend of classic GT cars etc racing. I dont plan to do the parade lap as we may be going over to Nurburgring circuit on the Saturday morning for a run round the ring as its only an hour away and Im told the main Spa racing doesnt start till afternoon.

See you there, we'll probably be doing the same thing!

The Parade Laps do not only take place before the racing like at the Le Man Classic. At Spa there are sessions at different times on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Most of the TVRs are in the Sunday lunchtime session but some are also taking part late Saturday afternoon wink

You are right that the racing starts after lunch on Saturday and it continues until late at night (01.00 on Sunday in 2014) so you can watch the classic GTs after dark.

I'm sat on the fence re spa
Where do folk tend to stay. Last time I camped, but it was pretty quiet locally after the track had finished.

It is a little more than a "parade lap", don't confuse it with something like the one lap procession at Silverstone classic.

About half an hour on track, and as the video shows, it's pretty much no holds barred!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRcW4Dko4zc .... It was great fun but I never professed to be a racing driver smile

Then the lunacy of the 'Ring should suit you very well sir!

We only saw four badly damaged high-performance cars during our single lap yikes
( Nothing to do with us I hasten to add! )

Spa was pure fun.

Nurburgring was pure terror just avoiding / keeping out of the way of the maniacs exceeding their talent quotient on one of the busiest days at the place.
Speed doesn't kill, but massive speed differentials coupled with poor driving skills can be lethal.

Enjoy.......

Most of the TVR crowd have gone for the Hotel Verviers package. This includes an open bar on the Friday and Sunday evenings so with 50-60 people enjoying themselves it isn't usually "pretty quiet"!

The hotel bar will still be busy on Saturday but with the racing going on until late at night some people will be at the circuit. Well, unless it's one of those cold and wet Spa nights when you'll find them in the bar wink

Terror round the ring. Sounds good. But im not planning on driving my TVR round for that very reason. My mates bringing his Toyota MR2 track slag. Must be worth at least £600. Hes going to let me try and kill it, sorry I meant gently pootle round.
