Cor, there's some sour grapes on here, I know Paul through friends and he did work hard and was in the right business at the right time, jealous yes, bitter no, good luck to them.

3 hypercars, and I assume he has a garage full of others ( RR it seems at least!) how many miles can he put on them ? Rowans F1 has what 42,000 on and doesnt seem to have been hurt too badly by it.

Ha ha, yeah, bought for £540k, driven for 42k miles, sold for £8m ish (presuming it's not sold yet, but that's the figure I saw posted somewhere).

I agree with people who've said it's actually a decent investment, due to the limited numbers (although the Porsche is slightly more 'common' from memory) I can only see prices going up for that trio.

I hope he does put mileage on them though, it'd be a shame if he bought them as an investment only and didn't enjoy them for what they are, although what what I've read he does drive his collection so fair play to him.

From what I've read, he comes over as an enthusiast. And he made many millions of pounds. It is just conceivable he doesn't give a f%^& how much they're worth in a few years but cares more about the fun he's had with them.

Aye he could well be, he's made his money, but even so , even if they loose half their value he's still in caviar and premium ecconomy flights...

All power to the guy, he's succeeded with his business and now he's enjoying the fruits of his labour. If I had a bank balance that could be mistaken for my telephone number, I dare say I'd probably do exactly the same!!

Plus, the charity passenger rides the article mentions - I'd say he seems like a decent guy who knows what he likes.

Well played smile

I get irritated with things like this and no; I'm not jealous of him having those cars.

I know it's unrealistic but I just wish the world had a slightly better distribution of wealth. When you have seen some of the things I have seen then it really underlines how unfair life can be for some people who desperately need money to survive.

When I see people with so much it just bugs me, but hey thats life and I guess it will always be like that.
You seem to be labouring under the misconception that it's a zero sum economy.

If he hadn't started his business and created the value he did, that money wouldn't be in the pockets of anyone else; it just wouldn't exist.

I think my love of cars is waning. None of these hypercars do anything for me.

Also, did this guy ask the Mail to run the story on him? Or did the paper nab his photos from somewhere?

I hope he uses them as much as possible, buying a hypercar to just park in the garage and look at is like dating Sheridan Smith because she's cute, it's a perfectly reasonable thing to do, but if u don't take it for a ride and enjoy it as much as damn well possible you're a fool.

I've really started liking the Ferrari. Slow start for me, but it seems much more special than first impressions.

Just the silly name really, if it had a 'great' name like the Enzo for example, then it would be a winner.
Internally, it was called the F150, which would be better if it didn't put the thought of a Ford pickup in people's minds.

The Ferrari is by far and away my favourite. The fact that according to road tests it handles like a proper sports-car should in a 458-esque way, but with much greater power totally puts it in my favour. The Mclaren and Porsche are too clinical. The Ferrari seems to have more character and hasn't forgotten about fun in the quest for outright speed.

The article that started the thread was in the Telegraph, but I suspect the key is the last few paras. SupercarDriver probably punted a press release out, and journos like press releases they can spin into a story without leaving the comfort of their desk.

No, it's not. Given the revenue growth, it's not a bad price at all.

Stupid way to spend a fairly limited fortune, but it's his money!
Apart from the cars are an appreciating asset. And he probably has massive investments elsewhere to pay his living?

For me its a great decision, he has all 3 so the mileage will be minimal and in 10 years I don't think they will be worth a penny less than what he has paid for them (as a group).

Nice but I don't think I would buy all 3 even if I had the money. They're too similar.

The Rolls Royce documentary said he has over 80 cars most of which are high end Ferrari, Lambo, Aston, Rollers, Bentley etc and which have a lot of expensive options and personalisation.

Lets say he had £10M in assets before he sold out so was worth around £40M. Given the average cost of the cars he must have ploughed a very big % of his cash into his cars.

No problem with that at all though, it's his money and I'm sure he enjoys them.

Agree that the 918 looks amazing in that pic.
