There's no rhyme nor reason to this kind of thing, but we all have something which for some fathomless reason we won't bin. I'll start you off with my auntie's old fish slice and grater. The slice is worn and battered and I have a new stainless one, but I always reach for the old one. Same with the 1950's grater. Why? I can't tell you because I have no idea myself. Now it's your turn!

I have a t-shirt that I bought over 20 years ago. The print has long since faded and disappeared, the sleeves have worn and have been sewed back a few times. It doesn't even fit properly, as I was a bit chunkier when I bought it compared to now. My wife hates it and has suggested it be reassigned to the car cleaning duster bin.

Never!!

That faded old T-Shirt was on the scene for over 20 years before I met you!

It'd be like putting a pet dog down because it farts in its sleep from time to time.

Knackered old Adidas t-shirt...

So thin it's see through... holes, blood, gun oil, mud, sweat and whatever else you can think of stained, used as a towel, a cloth...

But it's been round the world with me and I love it biggrin

My ex-wife once threatened to burn it. She would have been an ex even sooner hehe

I've collected crap like this for years. Finally bought a deep box photo frame and chucked everything in. Made art out of crap.

Tv/ audio/pc Cables and connectors.
Draws full of scart leads, speaker cable, power leads, pc cables. Most will probably never be needed ever again, but we all know we'll throw out the ones that we will later need in years to come.

A rolling pin I won in a YFC biscuit making competition. Also a plait from when I had my long hair cut when a teenager.
Lots of things really when I think about it.

I've got a big bag full of this kind of stuff in the spare room, plugs useful for fuses when you find you have non spare.

15+ years of top gear and EVO magazines. They just can't be chucked.
They will come handy for a quick referal when i'm in an argument on the internet against a powerfully built company director, claiming he knows more about a road test from 12 years ago.

VHS collection - still have a working, connected Sony VCR but not really used anymore
Vinyl collection despite no longer having a deck
Cassette collection - not wired up my Yamaha deck for years

All substantial media collections going back 25 years

Piles of classic car mags from about 1990-2000 - good ref material for cars I'll never buy
Four years of university lecture notes neatly written up in A4 binders - never going to use them again

Somewhere I have the shoes I passed both my driving test and my race license test in. They are thoroughly ruined and I'll never be able to wear them again.

I did have "stuff" up until quite recently but had to thin it out quite substantially. frown

It was quite therapeutic but the UK council tips now insist you sort all the rubbish out and put it in the correct bins! Took ages
