Share allocations; can I backdate?

Long story short, my previous accountant screwed up and didn't set up my wife as a Director when asked. Then when he did, he didn't allocate any shares so I've just had to pay tax for the 2013/2014 tax year as the dividends paid to her had to be redirected to my account.

In November my new accountant sent me the relevant share allocation form, which is all good.
However, she won't give me advice on whether or not I can backdate the allocation to the start of the financial year.
Does anyone know if I can backdate the allocation? As she is not giving advice I assume that it is not clear on the website (I haven't had time to check).
Just wondering if anyone has had experience of this, rather than asking anyone to trawl through the information for me! That will be my wife's job, if necessary.
