Hi guys

Wondering if you nice chaps can shed some light on the obd2 readings i have just got.
I am using bluetooth adaptor and obd torque paid addition from google play store.
I got a first reading showing two red not ok boxes then done again and got many red not oks.
No fault codes stored however.

Car is citroen c5 vtr+nav 2.0 163 auto yr 2010

Thanks in advance

Nigel

If there are no codes stored, it sounds like you are asking us to diagnose a non-existent problem.

Hi andily and thank you for the reply.

I think its more, does anyone have experiance with this type of app and diagnostics, and although no error codes are logged that report is clearly showing errors...or is it just something not compatible between car and app??? i have no clue or experience with this kind of mechanics and was kinda hoping someone here would. I do seem to have high consumption and some juddering when cold, which was my initial reason for purchase of the app, in the hope it would simply give nice easy fault codes to work with.

Does that make sense ?

Regards
Nigel

Is the diagnostic you used a general purpose one or a specific Citroen one?
Best bet may be to find a local Peugeot/Citroen specialist & get it looked at with their kit. (I do mechanicals, bodywork, welding etc but electronics aren't my strong suit)
I do that with both our 307s as they are just round the corner & I get the benefit of a proper diagnostic (£35) with their experience.
Just had one done on my youngest's recently acquired 52 plate 2.0 petrol - 'Anti pollution fault' showing - which turned out to be the coil pack. It sounded like the exhaust was blowing or, going by the rattle when revved, a box was breaking up internally, which I thought would be the cause, but having gone over exhaust system myself no leaks or noise from cat or silencers whatsoever & the system looked pretty much new. I now know - having asked - that that engine has a particular known problem with the exhaust manifold pipe arrangement that has no effect whatsoever on the emissions - or anything else!

All the app is telling you is that the sensor(s) are absent.

They're absent because on a typical 4 cylinder engine you'll have a max of 2 O2 sensors, one pre-CAT, one post CAT.

a 'bank' is typically the side of a 'Vee' so a V8 motor has 2 banks, a W engine has 4 banks etc. Large cylinder number straight engines may split the cylinders into separate banks also.

The app is universal so accounts for all engine types.

Any backup support via the app provider?
If not & in the absence of any definite answers you have three choices.
1. Do nothing.
2. Change parts that you think might be defective & see if it makes any difference - not recommended as it may not make a difference & will empty your wallet (I'm aware of another forum where somebody did just that trying to cure a misfire & spent £600 on parts to no avail - and no, it wasn't me!smile)
3. Get a proper diagnostic done.
