C/H circulating pump
Discussion
Does anyone do normal pumps anymore? can you still get one of the red 3 speed pumps nowadays, I need one for a gravity system.
Anyone know where I can pick one up tomorrow in the Manchester area, I will try plumb centre but with all this eco bks I bet they only sell the modulating ones.
PS I know it may not be the same size as the original 20 year old one.

Three fixed speed 4 variable.
What's wrong with a modulating one?

Out of stock though everywhere.
I'm with the OP. What happened to cheap and cheerful, simple pumps ? Surely we don't have to pay £100+ for a pump ? I bought up the last of the Wilo stock at B&Q last year at £40 each (sorry OP, all spoken for). Now they only sell £100+ ones !
Pumps tend to last 10 years+. I doubt the new ones will be any better.
Oh, FYI, even a merchant/B&Q £100+ pump is cheap compared to replacing a pump in a Keston system boiler.......

Last I knew you could still get a 'traditional' pump ordered in for your combi or System boiler were needed, but the more expensive models now are also more energy efficient. That's what has pushed them onto the market. They're meant to save you quite a bit though, therefore paying for the cost difference.
Plenty on here from about £30! - http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_tr...
I ended up getting a modulating one from roolstation and with a quick flush out the system is up and running again. However the speed control is a bit confusing on it. It does either constant curve or proportional differential pressure, this means nothing to me, its a vented system that does radiators only, whats it best to set it on.
this is the only bumf I can find on it.
