Hoping some one has an obvious answer
Replaced the top uj and have found there is still some play in the assembly.
Decided it must be the difficult to replace bukhead bearing but upon inspection found the bearing to be fine but the triangular shaft is a loose fit in the triangular hole.
Is there a method of adjusting this?
If not I'm considering shims and ct1

I may well have misunderstood the problem, but if there is play in the black plastic part that fits inside the bearing, and around the triangular shaft it is a standard ford part from the sierra steering column.

I think this is the right bit ebay

The washer (Ford 1650936) missing from your column, I think, is designed to stop the bush sliding down the shaft and will not reduce play in the bush.

Both part numbers grabbed from a post by V8S4ME, might be worth getting touch to confirm they are correct.

Replacing the bearing and bush is relatively easy, although may take you a while after you have re-engineered the bulkhead and cut a new storage compartment in.

I also carried out the suggested forum mod of tapping the fixing holes to do away with the nut and bolt fixings in favour of just a bolt. Means being able to fit it without being in both the engine bay and the cabin footwell.
