Slightly odd request - I need a couple of small lengths (1m or so x2) of speaker cable that will be exposed on a wall...don't want them chased in for a variety of reasons...

Does anyone make decent looking cable? I seem to recall a number of years ago a couple of companies doing nice looking cables (couple of different colours intertwined)....but am struggling finding anything.

Typing this gave me an idea to my own problem...

I'm wondering if something like this would work:

It's only for surround speakers so outright audio quality isn't a pre-req'....

Thoughts?

You can get white speaker cable. Would this blend in with the skirting?

If a temp solution, could always use ducting: http://d-line-it.co.uk/products/products-at-home/d...

I have some taperwire that I'll be running flat to the skirting and will either cover it with some wood grain duck tape I've found (which happens to be very similar in colour to the wood of my skirting), or just leave it exposed copper coloured....depending on which looks best (most of the skirting run isn't generally visible).

This fabric covered cable would be for the vertical run from speaker to skirting...

I could have channelled it in, but the speakers may not be staying where they are, and dealing with the detail from skirting to wall channel was going to end up a pain, so I left them exposed. My thinking is that something like the fabric covered flex would make it look deliberately exposed for the metre or so run.

Looking on eBay it's cheap, so I may just get some and see.

Cable spiral wrap comes in a few different colours; it's not exactly beautiful to look at but is at least neat and tidy.

Stuff needs cables to work. Don't hide them, celebrate them!

Found some and have 3 metres of "antique bronze" sat in front of me...as electric cable intended for lighting though, it's pretty thin.

Will see how it works and report back. Surround speakers only so doesn't need to be great quality.

I tend to agree in many respects, and the picture at the link is a great idea...my house doesn't suit the "urban industrial" look that well unfortunately though. And there's very little space where the cables are so they're barely on view...

Talk to the guys who run Futureshop. They sell more cable than anybody in the UK I believe and if its made that know about it.

You used to be able to cable that was a flat tape and could stick to the wall, and then paint over it which was pretty discrete.....not sure if that kind of stuff is available on the market (I am talking 10 years ago)

also there was another thread just recently where the cables were made part of display of media equipment, looked very impressive

Taperwire.

I have some for the bulk of the run - only seems to be available in the US. Have used it successfully in the past.
