I have a a hankering after a poverty spec W123/4 with an oil burner under the bonnet,I know that PH wisdom is that it's the devils fuel but old Mercs always seem to be more character full when powered by diesel, plus the history of diesel powered cars and Mercedes are linked almost from day one. My ideal car would be a 240D/250D German taxi beige complete with taxi spec interior! A W123 sold some time ago with 80KM's in complete taxi spec for well over €30.000 never been used, owner bought it to replace an older 300D which then refused to die so the W123 was put in a garage.

MTSV currently has a fairly basic manual W124 250D estate.

Had this in recently, only done 132K

The owner has another identical one, 1 240 and 1 300

Here you go both together, we were swapping the leather from the 240 into the 300 as that's the one he uses daily

Ironside has a crispy 240 D auto. White over tan. It's not super-Spartan as it has a radio and zebrano trim. Not much else, though.

Charles Ironside has had that 240D sometime, he also has a couple of E300 diesels. I also seem to recall he sells on commission. If the money was in the bank now then the MTSV 250D estate would be outside the house now! However in the longterm a LHD car is probably what I would chose as I intend to retire in a couple of years to the south of France.(€ economic woes aside) here is a link to a dutch dealer who has some nice models all very pricey but that NL values for you
http://www.autodrenthen.nl/index.php?option=com_vi... they have a stunning beige 250d on page 2 complete with lurid green MBtex perfect!
