Very nice refurbed 350i chassis on flea
Discussion
Looks very nice. Might be useful if your chassis is beyond repair? Is it someone off this forum that does the work??

Isn't that the one that was sold with the blue project Wedge recently ?
Buyer said he was going to sell off unwanted bits .
Clues in the shop name and if you look through all the other stuff for sale then there are some more bits for Wedge's..Shame that this project won't now be completed, I guess we should just take advantage to grab some parts while we can..I wonder what will happen to the complete car now..That will probably get broken up as well...Buyer said he was going to sell off unwanted bits .
I used to own old Land Rovers. I had 5 over the years, ranging in age from 1958 to 1965.
Old Landys often have their chassis replaced due to tin worm. However, the chassis is "the car" and the VIN and reg is tied to this. Change the chassis and you need to use the VIN and reg which comes from that car which had the chassis (provided you also use other parts). There are lots of old Landys with questionable history because of this.
If you buy a brand new like for like chassis then you can continue to use your existing VIN and reg.
If you replace your chassis with a second hand one from another vehicle then you need to other replace items from the donor car:
In short, put that chassis on your TVR then you have to have it re-registered as a Q plate......
If that chassis is being sold without VIN/V5, then you have to by law re-register your TVR after fitting as a Q....

Your vehicle must have 8 or more points from the table below if you want to keep the original registration number. 5 of these points must come from having the original or new and unmodified chassis, monocoque bodyshell or frame.
Part Points
Chassis, monocoque bodyshell (body and chassis as one unit) or frame - original or new and unmodified (direct from manufacturer) 5
Suspension (front and back) - original 2
Axles (both) - original 2
Transmission - original 2
Steering assembly - original 2
Engine - original 1

Get a ‘Q’ registration number
You won’t be able to keep your vehicle’s original registration number if one of the following applies:
it has fewer than 8 points
it has a second-hand or altered chassis, monocoque bodyshell or frame
there’s evidence that 2 vehicles have been welded together to form one (ie ‘cut and shut’)
Your vehicle must pass the relevant type approval test to get a ‘Q’ prefix registration number.
Chances of being found out? Slim maybe, but it doesn't change the law (and worth remembering if you try to sell (or buy) a car with a replacement second hand chassis). You won’t be able to keep your vehicle’s original registration number if one of the following applies:

The VIN on the wedge chassis is nigh-on invisible at the best of times, it wouldn't take much of a tickle with something abrasive to get rid of it completely... rest of the other bits from that 350i project are up now = http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/m.html?_odkw=&_ssn=f...
