Is there any bhp to be had with the JE bracket ?If not i can`t see why it would be an advantage to have one fitted .
I got a genuine additional 40hp after adding my JE alternator bracket, best of all I saw an immediate 25% improvement in fuel economy. You can literally feel the extra horsepower kick in right off idle, the engine spins up like a wankel rotary engine right to it's new 7,800rpm red line.
The only real problem with this bracket is having enough time to snatch the next gear, get it wrong and the subsequent on-off power transition has the rear tyres lighting up like a Nepalese monk's new Dunlop necklace.
I have learned to tame all this additional thrust but only because I am a diving god, if you haven't got the balls you should really just stick with the rattling old sprung tentioner.
Just my honest opinion you understand

I think maybe a touch little optomistic Dave on the bhp.
25bhp maybe. But yes agree on the amazing fuel consumption increase.
One of the best tuning mods to date. I just dont understand why everyone isnt fitting them.
Good points well made Carsy - I have also used the space the JE bracket releases to fit an exhaust manifold soup warmer.25bhp maybe. But yes agree on the amazing fuel consumption increase.

I find a hot bowl of steaming chicken broth is just the ticket on those chilly TVR winter drives.
TBH there are so many advantages to fitting the JE bracket it would take me all day to list them, but the soup warmer has to be my favorite.
I am also developing an engine vacuum driven soup delivery system that drives piping hot broth right to the drivers mouth as you drive.
Lift off the throttle - manifold depression goes above 40kpa and a mouthful of Campbell's finest is delivered at 70psi.
Emmmmmm
