Cheerful cheerful. But should be done. Current solicitor has quoted at £250 which I suspect is a bit toppy.

We need 2 mirror wills. Married, 1 young child, 2 mortgaged properties, 2 life insurances (1 each), 1 business. No complications as far as we can see. (i.e. Spouse gets everything unless both cop it at the same time then the daughter gets it. In that worst case she and the dog needs to go to sister and sell everything.)

Or is £250 about right?

Happy days.

Your requirements seem simple enough so take a look at this -http://wills.which.co.uk/whichwills/index.cfm?event=base:home&gclid=COuz_t_uucMCFSIcwwodsg0AAw

£87 for both wills.

£250 for 2 proper wills done by a solicitor seems about right. Particularly as there are business assets.

As I said in another thread, I don't think this is something to skimp on.

I deal with wills trusts and estates as a TEP. I would suggest you consider trusts for the life cover and also ensure the business shares/assets are also bequeathed to trust on death if the business is a qualifying trader for Business Property Relief purposes if there is sufficient value to justify it.

also need to consider if you die and pass everything to wife, she then re marries and takes the collective assets into the new relationship, new Mr has children of his own, your wife then dies before him..... Trusts offer the solution to mitigate these kinds of issues so maybe speak to an expert about this before you decide what to do.

We have wills written in Scotland as we have a house up there - the wills were written as part of the house purchase.
We also have a house down here in Yorkshire, after we completed, I asked the Solicitor for a price to do our wills again.

£900

That was in 2010

Still haven't redone them
