Strange no picture of the engine bay. Doesnt say if it is Intercooled or not. I've just found 50p down the back of the sofa!!
My chimps off to RTR in 3 weeks for a chassis fix.
I visited the RTR shop last year. I've spent 20 years in Power Engineering working for these guys (www.alstom.com) and spent a lot of time looking at welds in all sorts of fancy materials (stuff that operates for 20 years at 550C).
The welding I saw at RTR was very good.
We'll see how good the rest of it is soon.
RTR also make the chassis that TVR Power sell in Coventry

I wonder if they make the front chassis a bit wider for the LS engine ?My chimps off to RTR in 3 weeks for a chassis fix.

Realistically, a very nice 400 will make, say 9k for a private sale.
Add the cost of the SC and a few bits and pieces which we know you won't get your money back for, I reckon this is worth about £12-13K.
Just my take on it.
Just thinking, if this goes for anywhere near that price, mine must be worth £18K at least

To my mind the chassis restoration, Emerald installation, and the supercharger could easily all add up to £15k.
Add that to a decent but standard £9k 4.0 litre Chimaera and you've just spent £24k!
The car in question is priced at £17,750 which sounds to me like the owner has a final sell price of £17k in mind after allowing for a little haggling.
So at £17k the new lucky owner will have saved himself a healthy £7k, that seems like a good deal to me.
We really need to stop undervaluing our cars, look at the price of classic cars these days, my mate just spent £20k on a 1968 Porsche 912. Nice little car and all that but basically a Beetle sports (hope he's not reading this )
Try and find another car that gives you that classic old school driving experience with the same levels of performance for less than £30k and you'll be struggling, and I'm talking about a standard Chimaera.
If you want to talk about this supercharged Chimaera that is giving you near modern super car performance there is literally nothing to compete this side of paying £1m for an original Cobra.
If someone is in the market for supercharging their current Chimaera they should consider selling it and buying this car.
Sell your current car for £9k, buy this one for £17k, extra outlay = £8k.
Take the £8k additional outlay and subtract the cost of a full chassis restoration, an Emerald engine management installation and the supercharger kit.
Ooo look, you've just saved yourself a clear £7k.
You could borrow the £8k over a few years and pay it off monthly, even with interest you'd still be making a big saving and you'll probably not feel the payments if you spread them over a longish term.
We all know you never make your money back on modifications, so the smart amongst us will let others take the hit.
The real question with this car is whether the supercharger installation is working properly, the general quality of the work and the overall condition of the car itself.
To establish that there's only one way to find out... view it!
But if it really is as good as it looks, £17k would represent a great deal to my mind!

I know the car reasonably well, not seen it for a while but knew it was going for a chassis replacement (if I knew he was going to sell it so soon I would have struck a deal with him on the chassis replacement for my mine).
This is the car that I was playing/chasing when my engine blew up at 140mph........
