Looks like some bonkers discounts available on the A7. Not really considered one before and now little of them. Are they just a re-styled A6?

Presume discount indicates residual suicide but interested to hear any feedback?

They're not the prettiest car on the road for sure. Seems the designers lost interest at the back.

They share a lot of tech with the bigger A8 but body-wise they're closer to the A6 in terms of construction.

The rear end isn't exactly its best feature, but it's quite colour sensitive to how horrid it looks.

They don't hold their value brilliantly - probably a better buy used especially if you want a decent spec count on it. I know of one that listed at £75k new and sold recently for circa £30k at 3 years old and 37k miles (3 litre supercharged) which makes a lot more sense than being the first owner!

I had the bi-turbo for a few days when my own car was in for warranty work. I personally like the look, especially the black pack and accept it is not everyone's cup of tea but it seemed to get a bit of attention. Good tech, though the heads up is a bit naff compared to BMW, plenty of space, big boot and great engine. Steering is typical Audi, but the ride was good and the car is nicely put together, but it is wide and I really noticed this when parking and trying to get out. Any car in this class will depreciate heavily, I know there are big discounts and if you're interested I would recommend you print off a DTD price and hawk it around a few dealers, I also know that there's quite a bit of stock out there, so if you're not too fussy you could get a great deal, which would soften the resale blow somewhat. Check out the 640d GC as an alternative, great deals on those also.

Personally, I think the back of the A7 is the best thing about it. The front is quite generic, could nearly be an A4/5/6/8, the back looks grumpy.

Yes, I think they're about the best looking cars Audi make. Stylish and distinctive.

Interior is a lovely place to be and as per A6/8 the first 3 years of depreciation are brutal so used ones an absolute bargain. Even the standard specification is pretty good.

Not owned one but has one as a courtesy car. Beautiful car inside, I'm actually quite fond of the exterior but it is a bit marmite.

They are huge, I had an RS5 at the time and the A7 didn't fit on the drive that the 5 was usually parked on. If that's not at issue go for it 2nd hand of course as they depreciate horrendously.

Ride quality poor for the handling which was only competent IMHO. Air suspension on the A8 much better. Optional on most A7 models so you won't find much selection of cars that ride properly in the used market as they are mostly glitzed up with big wheels. My S8 on 21s rides better than the A7 on 19s I tried. Not much weight difference compared to A8 as less aluminium. Very similar electronics and options though, just the suspension ruined for me. Still not sure on looks.

For me, the Mercedes CLS (+ Shooting Brake) manages to achieve a similar thing for them. Most the range is dullish looking.
