So, after all the killings looks as if the West is caving in and self censoring due to threats or even perceived threats, well France and Belgium anyway. So other than Boris who is there who will say anything?
Freedom of speech/expression? Pah!

Its no surprise really. Soon after the West was going all "Je Suis Charlie", the Muslim world was getting quite angry. Lots of protests in countries such as Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Algeria, Morocco and Mali, all condemning Charlie Hebdo and everything it stands for. Some of those protests turned violent, unsurprisingly, with deaths reported.

No, I'm not surprised at all either really, just desperately frustrated that no-one seems to have the bcensoreds to see anything through at home, but quite happy to bomb the crap out of places overseas....but therein lies a good deal of the problem!

A few committed interlopers will always cause problems to a happy and 'fat' population.

Caving in will lead to more disputes and a lack of empathy in my view, which may lead to even more problems.

Only way to achieve fewer problems is for the billions of peaceful Muslims to stand up for the freedom so far enjoyed in the West. rolleyes

Absolutely, unfortunately I feel they are just going to sleepwalk into an "Islamified" society with the rest of us, not realising the long term consequences of it all to the population as a whole

Yet another example of terrorism being used successfully in order to meet certain objectives - had the Charlie Hebdo massacre not happened, this exhibition display would probably not have been scrapped.

Essentially, the extremists are saying 'Islamic blasphemy law must be observed even in Western Europe' and, to a certain extent, they seem to be winning that battle.

I've said it before, it's a done deal. It's 'when', not 'if'.

For some, for others it was very important, to show violence will not succeed, along with the right of expression.

Shows nothing. At most expresses a desire.

Je suis Charlie do not have an agenda to subjugate the masses. In time, when you or your grandkids or their grandkids have no choice but to be nose down into a prayer mat, then you may look at things differently!
Me, right now because I have the choice, am going down the Pub,
Cheers beer

And that for me is important, the alternative is people arm themselves and fight against what they perceive as the threat. Do we want that ?

PH removed one of my posts the other day on the grounds of it been offensive. If I had written the same about Catholic priests it would no doubt still be there.

Seriously, Dude. Following the title, the content of this thread really disappoints.
