Can anyone recommend, or has a good experience with, a car battery booster pack please? I'm looking for one that charges the pack itself from the mains, but then can be connected to a car battery to charge it on a standalone basis I.e. whilst the pack is disconnected from the mains, so that it can be used in remote locations where no power is available.

Thanks
G.

Are you wanting to jump start or maintain battery charge?

As i can't see a battery pack being any good at maintaining charge

Look at solar it is a reasonable alternative

I'm looking to use the booster pack to charge the battery in the car to a point where the car can start using its own battery. So not exactly jump starting as such, but similar. If such a pack is not available, them jump starting using the booster pack would be an option.

Solar is not really an option unfortunately due to the setup of where the car is stored. Good idea though, and may use it with the car stored in my garage at home.

Kinda the same thing, really - it's just whether you turn the key whilst it's connected or later.

Any cheapish jumpbox will do the job. Or a charged (even small, motorcycle) 12v battery with a pair of jumpleads - that's all a jumpbox really is, if you discount any fripperies such as the tester LEDs/lights/compressors/built-in chargers. Whatever you spot for sale at an acceptable price.

The top tip is to remember that it's a 12v battery in it, and not let it sit flat.

After years of moving stored vehicals from long term storage (recovery driver) i ended up with this

The leads are from one of the MANY cheap jump packs i've had over the years and TBH were the best part on them, the battery is more powerfull than any jump pack you will find for under £60

Bump for the Monday morning readers, if there are any other recommendations out there please? Ideally looking for a particular brand and/or model people have found to be good, bad, indifferent.

Thanks to those who have responded so far.
