There have been other threads on costs of Audi's to run

Yertis's comment about Audi Dealerships = Audi Stealerships makes me smile everytime I pass one

but the difference is he ONLY needed a headlight for his MOT and not your hefty list, other than their high prices surely there's another message in there?

L10TVR not for an A8!!

Scottster £2500 of bills on an 97 A8 between 74K miles and 94K miles is not cheap motoring and numerous not solved electrical gremlins (ie wipers stopping even after wiper motor and electics changed, intermittent indicators, thie list goes on). Not Impressed

For future reference there is a parts supplier called The Parts Department, URL www.partsdepartment.co.uk. They do all VW/Audi parts at far better prices than UK dealerships (they basically bring them in from Europe). This outfit is run by a couple of ex Audi parts guys - they're good and know their stuff.

Worth a punt next time you're stuck for bits or feeling like you're about to be fleeced.

A guy ar Work has the same car (A8 4.2 P reg), and almost the same list of problems.

He's had enough of the gremlins and it's being flogged - literally

re-electrical issues; I traded mine (give)away, someone suggested that everything is routed through the ECU so all my component replacing was probably a complete waste of time. Audi UK will not sell you a service manual but you can buy one in the US for US$99!!!

The attitude of most of the dealers I visited and Audi UK was very dissappointing.. won't be having another.
