Yes, it's 90% or thereabouts across the UK.

I believe that BBC Stargazing will have a live show during the eclipse.

One way or another, I'll be doing a weather balloon launch to try and capture the event from 35km altitude or so.

There's a live BBC Stargazing on BBC1 from 9am=10am that day, and I'm told I'll have 2 live spots plus they'll be showing a recording of the launch (which will happen at about 8am so before the show starts).

I still have the eclipse viewing glasses from the 1999 event from Cornwall.

Binos tested on a tripod (had to make a bracket to take the bins. Good image of the sun projected onto a bit of paper. Need a box I think in this light, could not make out any surface detail, if there are any spots. NO LOOKING AT THE SUN DIRECTLY!!!!!!!

Now for the scope filter.

Can't believe I am saying this in Wales, actually looks like we might get something. Need to refine the method but the image is sharp, the photo is blurred.

Which way is the shadow going to be moving? I'm on the coast so it'll be cool to watch it approach from a cliff top.

Eta I'm guessing from the east but would hate to be looking the wrong way...

Almost a bit spooky how solar eclipses take place given that the moon has to be at precisely the correct distance from the planet for it to have the effect it does!
