Lots dead sadly with many still trapped in the submerged front cabin of the aircraft.

I can't work out if this yellow cars occupants have been extremely lucky or extremely unlucky eek

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuu....eek
How utterly terrifying for those on the bridge at the time (not to mention the poor people in the plane)

That is both heartbreaking and scary, cannot imaging seeing that.

Sounds like many pele were rescued, or not a lot dead - then again, sadly that usually rises as more is known.

There is a live stream on youtube of the rescue - looks very well organised.
From the flight radar data it looks like he tracked the river in a reasonable glide - so still in control - managed to put out a mayday too.
They managed to miss most of the traffic, buildings, road and went *under* the power lines.... amazing anyone got out of this ok really!

Seems like they managed to declare MAYDAY for an engine flameout.

Relatively experienced pilots with 5k+ hrs each.

Almost new aircraft.
If they lost an engine then surely one of the props would be feathered? Otherwise asymetric drag would be a major issue.

Sometimes events happen so fast that all the "right" things that should be done, aren't.

It does look like the left prop was feathered.

It looks like it wasn't really flying in the video - just mushing along at the stall then a vicious wing drop. Poor buggers.

The speed of the thing - I'm absolutely astonished that anyone lived through that at all.

That video looks like some bad CGI from a cheesy Hollywood film. Amazing anyone got out of that alive.

This is a highly built up area, and the plane has not hit any buildings, and there are some survivors.
If the pilot has dumped it in the river on purpose after the engines have cut, he's a hero.

Would love to know if the pilots are among the survivors.

It looks like they came in between some tower blocks. This could have been so much worse.

Looks like only the rear 20-30% has stayed intact tbh.
They have stopped hands on searching now and it looks like they are about to attempt a lift using a crane.

55 on board inc crew, 13 dead so far and seems a fair few are in a critical state, here's hoping the death toll doesn't rise

The thing went down like a rock, it's an absolute miracle there are any survivors and that the plane didn't hit anything on the way down
