I bought some lowering springs for my mk4 mondeo, with the intention of fitting them myself.
But I've wimped out, I don't fancy the idea of a spring trying to rearrange my face, what sort of ££££ Could I expect a garage or mobile mechanic to charge me?

I know this reply is a tad late but I have done the job at home.
The legs come off easily except that you have to mark carefully then drop the engine / suspension subframe. This must go back in exactly the same place of your front geometry is way out, I painted round the mounting bushes this leave an unpainted ring that you can gently move the subframe rubbers back to.
Once the legs are off the next chalenge is compressing the springs which are narrow at top and bottom, I needed 3 spring compressors angled and used progressively to get the springs compressed enough.
Once off the new shorter springs need compressing and now you have a sharper angle as spring length is shorter and when fitted but still compressed the spring compressors get in the way.
I probably reset the compressors a dozen times each side before getting them on.
It was one of the most time consuming frustrating weekends of my life
