(Apologies if I've sinned by cross-posting - this is also in the event área, as I thought it might be of interest)

Looking for an excuse for a roadtrip? Here is a suggestion:

It is a supercar event in Santander, Spain held once a year. There's a ferry direct to Santander with a discount for attendees. Last year there were more than 200 cars in attendance.

While the event in and of itself is somewhat like others with a large volumen of exotics, one of the things I like about it is that the organization has worked with the Town Hall to organize the convoy leaving and returning from the site. There are pólice at every corner to keep our stoplights Green, and we are actively encouraged to leave the city as quickly as you can pedal. It's the closest thing to the Monaco GP that I'll ever experience! Some sort of surreal memories from last year - cruising at an honest 200 k/hr on the highway with a Guardia Civil motorcycle cop riding next to me, urging me to pick up the pace as we were holding up traffic! (true story)

The official video from last year is here:

(That's my Pantera GT5-S that appears a few times, so I kind of like the video ;-) )
There are all kinds of videos on YouTube if you search.

Don't worry - the Spanish in the film is only for the first minute or so, and it gives you a chance to practice. The organization will have a Spanish-English translator on hand for the weekend just in case.

Want to take the easy way out and travel in a group? A friend of mine organizes tours to Spain and will be attending from England with a small convoy. Questions or need help? I've been living in Spain for 15 years now and know my way around pretty well.

(I have no financial interest, bla bla blah,)
