Seems to be very little events / meets that happen up north. Is there a reason or am I in the wrong section?

Considering the concentration of some extremely decent cars around Cheshire and Manchester City centre, coupled with some superb dealers (Derbyshire/Lancashire/Cheshire) and outstanding roads we have the ingredients for top quality meetings.
However, when you look at the behaviour of the utter pricks at the last Gumball Get together you have to question if it would be worth the effort in sorting more events out. I have toyed with organising a couple, but always get as far as the events there and just don't feel the hassle is worth the effort.

I know this. What happened with Gumball? I'd definitely be up for attending various events, even assisting in organising. It just seems that all the events are more down south.

Google maps shows that as 25 hours travel time, assuming I take a plane.

It would be quicker for me to attend the Surrey meets, even being based in Leeds.

The videos here show more than I could say;
http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greate...

I've looked at a few locations, pubs mostly, at possibilities for breakfast meet before maybe the owners go for a drive. But as I say, the Gumball event was quite a disaster (no fault of the organisers, by the way) and there would be no realistic way to be able to control it so the idiots didn't do what idiots do best. The GT Cafe looks a great meet, but I think something the other side of Manchester could work if it weren't for those mentioned above.

What you really need is a stately home or Motorsport venue to run a breakfast club like Wilton house in Salisbury or Goodwood plus we also have the numerous meets at brook lands to keep us busy down south.

However I'm sure this has been covered before but most northerners are too busy putting gravy on their cars, drinking special brew and playing a trombone with a hard hat and light on their head.

I'll get my coat....

I live down south but work up north and agree there should be more going on. Maybe look to arrange a monthly or quarterly at the Oil Can Cafe? http://thecardingshed.co.uk/
The Gumball meet still happens in Manc i think but it's once in a blue moon.

Yer defiantly, great little place and well run too. I may be mistaken but if you turn left as you get to the car park bit (up the little hill) there is a field for overflow parking but I could be wrong. Still, should be able to get 40+ cars in there with some creative thinking and someone managing the parking. I smell a meet on the horizon!

Well volunteered!

lets wait for the weather to warm up a bit, be a shame to leave the bike for somewhere so local!
