Just recently i've been into listening to soundtracks...

The ones that stick out for me are

The bourne identity
Man of steel
Oblivion

based on that, does anyone have any recomendations. Or am I alone in this (current)obsession?

I used to like "White Rock", the Rick Wakeman album that was described as a soundtrack to the winter olympics. I have no idea whether it was actually used as a soundtrack or not. I've not listened to it for a while, last time I did I couldn't decide if it was really good or quite cheesy.

ETA - quick search suggests it was the official soundtrack to the Innsbruck Winter Olympics. Hadn't realised it was available on CD, as the main reason I haven't listened for a while is I only have a scratchy vinyl copy.

Love a good soundtrack,

Favourites at the moment (not all the songs in the album mind you)

Gone Girl
Hannah
Mr Brooks
Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Inception
Far Cry 3
Drive
End of Watch
Red Dead Redemption
Rush
Sunshine
Blood Diamond

All of these are pretty different (apart from the Zimmer stuff) but it gives a nice over view...

Almost anything by Hans Zimmer - the gladiator soundtrack is a particular favorite.

The work of Thomas Newman is the reason I watch many films.

If we're talking film "scores" as opposed to "soundtracks", then anything by John Barry qualifies.

Personally, my favourite score is Road To Perdition.

Yup,

Games sometimes have some of the best scores and music, to keep the atmosphere alive.

I quite like the good morning Vietnam soundtrack with bits of Adrian Cronauer between some of the tracks
