I thought it started well; the parade to rooftop scene was superbly shot,
Superbly shot, perhaps, but terribly scripted. What on earth was the whole 'wrong girl' thing all about? So much build-up and then that?

And then in the slow foot chase through the parade, a one point bond was directly behind the chap, a couple of metres behind, and then in the next shot the chap was much further down the road.

Just picked up the box set of all 23 films on Blu Ray for £39.99 on Amazon - today's deal of the day and an absolute steal! (just £26.99 for the DVD box set!)

Thought I may as well share it as some of you may be interested...
Thanks for that, I ordered the blu-ray this morning!
No worries - gone back up now to £70 odd quid now. Was a very good deal...

Thanks for the recommendation. I ordered the Blu-Ray set at £39.99 and it arrived today. I have a couple of Bond films on Blu-Ray and a couple on DVD, but at that price it was a bargain. (Or I have no self restraint and am easily tempted by new shiny things.)

Just watched it, I thought it was boring and felt let down, plus it was about 40 mins too long.

I'm a James bond fan, and wanted it to be great, but it was straight into the bottom 5 films for me.

Well I caught it the other day and thought it was ace. There were a few jarring continuity errors for me but that aside I thought it was a great romp. Easily Craig's best Bond.

We went to see it yesterday.

7/10 for me, but my wife really liked it.

Some good action set-pieces, but some odd let downs, such as the escape from the desert hide-out.

Quite wordy for a Bond film, I felt, but maybe better for that, less Bourne than some others.

Enjoyable, but not, for me, one of the very best, but then I liked QoS!

I saw it last night, thought it very good and that Craig has been an excellent Bond.
One thing I do always miss is the humourous quips they used to put in, particularly for Roger Moore.
I bet no-one noticed that the manacles holding him down whilst he had his head drilled were made from double swing hinges.... whistle

Go on... bearing in mind I've not seen the film, is there a joke in that or it only in context of the film?

And that sam smith song was utterly, utterly dreadful.
Agreed.
It was by far the worst Bond song I've heard (even worst than the Madonna one) and the worst thing about the film.
Actually I disagree. I thought that it was the most impressive Bond theme since Casino Royale. Different, memorable, and catchy.

I was underwhelmed, Mrs PR enjoyed it and liked picking up on all the references.

I just thought it was a bit samey.

Liking, Bond, Q, M & Moneypenny though so can't be all that bad.

The individual elements were fine but they just didn't gel. Lot's of repeated sections from older films with no real flow.

That's what I thought. It felt like a big budget fan tribute to Bond, rather than a new story. It felt tired and when compared to how fresh CR was, does the franchise need another re-boot already?

Saw it yesterday and whilst I enjoyed it at the time, I doubt I'll bother watching it again.

The Radiohead song done for the film is on Soundcloud if anyone is interested.

Makes the Sam Smith one sound like the right choice. Dreadful dirge.

What? yikes

You are the only person I've heard say that; I'm shocked to the point that I think I'm missing a whoosh parrot?

Have to agree; the 30 seconds that I heard were just plain awful, wife said the same too.

Yep, me too. I hate the sam smith song - I don't like men singing in falsetto like that - and the Radiohead song is no different, its just Thom Yorke warbling on! Combined with the offbeat drums, yuck.
Shame, because the first 22 seconds - just the piano & strings - promise greatness.
