I wish people would stop having a bloody moan, they are not yet a fully up and running company and do you think they have the time and resources at the moment to respond to muppets "testing" there systems.....

Just leave them be and support them until they are fully up and running.

Honestly, we are suppose to be lover's of TVR and all some people do is continually have a go and moan, if you don't like it bugger off to BMW....

Here here! clap Well said sir!

Would some people rather they were hiding in Vienna with rumoured plans to build TVR-branded wind turbines at sometime in the future? nono

  • And support them when they are fully up and running.
I am encouraged by the fact that they are taking the time to do things properly, it augurs well for the long term future of the marque.

Patience........

I'm sure all you owners of 1980's TVR's that are so supportive will be rushing to slap down 100k for a "new" TVR.

It's gone and it aint coming back.

Are you hoping to be reincarnated as a different species?

Why 100k? The new corvette stingray is £65K

What's your point? "New" TVR wouldn't be able to rely on you would they? I would have thought that what they actually need are people like me who regularly buy new sports cars and who bought 3 new TVR's in the 2000's. Unfortunately for them most of the cheerleaders seem to be people like you which is why they would be doomed to fail even in the unlikely event that they did produce a product.

Chevy produced 37,000 Corvettes last year in their own factories with their own mass production technology and engines and the backing of a parent with a $155 billion turnover. The Corvette is a halo product that may or may not make any money.

TVR would be looking to make about 100 cars a year by hand with bought in components and the backing of nobody. They were losing money on every Sagaris they made 10 years ago at a time when they were required to fit hardly any driver aids and the cars were bereft of technology. Just to reproduce the Sagaris today as it was then and make a profit they would probably have to sell it for 80k and they can't do that.

Actually you are right in as much as I would not pay 100k for a TVR I would be looking elsewhere for that money...

IMHO TVR should return to roots in a way lightweight simple cars with no frills able to destroy boxster etc.. Probably 30 - 50k that would spark my interest.

But that's not the direction they seem to be going.

As I see it the new owners have bought the TVR name but that is it. The new cars if\when they ever arrive will be just that, new. For me they will have to stand alone and any purchasing decision will be based on what they are and NOT loyalty to a now deceased company.

Show them how they can develop and manufacture a low volume sports car then sell it for £40k but still make money and I am sure they would be all ears.

Getting the product right in terms of looks, performance and quality is key. People will then pay for it. Jaguar Landrover are shining examples of this.
