I have just bought a squier telecaster which I was planning to run through iris into headphones. There does however seem to be a lag issue and therefore thinking about getting a cheapy amp.

So far the list is
Yamaha thr5
Line 6 either mini or 15 variant.
Orange micro
Orange pix cr12.

I quite like the options that you get with the irig with delays, distortion and compressor so if this could ber incorporated that would be great. Only reason the line 6 is in there is because of the options you have with it but it's a little bigger than ideal and it is pretty ugly which is a consideration to get the wife on board.

Any help greatly appreciated, I will be aiming at playing dire straits,Clapton, Eagles type music.

Thanks for reading and have a good day.

Have a look at the Fender Mustang range, I've got a few amps but the Mustang 1 is my go to amp for both guitar and bass at home and small room jamming with mates ( we are not particularly loud and there's no drummer )

I've got a small Peavey that gets very farty when you turn it up and a 100W beast for big occasions, both of these stay in the shed and rarely fire a shot in anger

Orange Microterror doesn't have effects, but sounds great and looks really cool...

The orange micro i was looking is not the terror as this seems to need a seperate pre amp which puts the price higher than i am wanting to pay. Unless im wrong and it can work on its own.

The Microterror is a head and separate speaker, or can be used with headphones or through PC type speakers if you want to save a bit at this stage. the advantage is that it would last a long time through your playing, one of the guys in my band brings his to rehearsals when he cant be bothered to carry his Marshall head, and runs it through a borrowed 4x12 cab. It can keep up with a decent drummer that way...

I got a THR10 for Chrimbo; it is an utterly astonishing bit of kit. Have a look at the YouTube demo, or better still, try one for yourself. Brilliant!

Have tried a thr10 as the place I got the guitar from used it as the demo amp, sounded very nice, would prefer to spend £100 ish or less though so out of price range. Thr5 would be enough for me I think and have found one on offer for £113 seems to have same effects just no iPod function which doesn't bother me as have plenty of ipod docks and5 watt instead of 10 which again would be okay for use.

Hopefully at the weekend I will be able to get somewhere to try these out.

Its a bit more than you want to spend but have you looked at the line6 amplify TT. I use mine with headphones and it has good ipad / iphone integration. You have all the effects you could want and can also play along with music in your itunes library.

What you dont see in reviews is the ability to play along with youtube videos and spotify ( no tone match )

I have a few amps inc high end valve amps gathering dust now.

Really impressed with mine, the Two Rock is being ignored at the moment.

Definitely do like the amp as said before its the one i demo'd the guitar on not sure i can justify that cost though as i have a tendancy to pick something new use it for a few weeks and then let it gather dust.

Currently bidding on a fender mustang amp on ebay which i less than a tenner but two days to go.

Was hoping to get a decent amp for around the £100 mark but if the thr10 really os the one to go for i might get an orange micro for £30 and if i keep on it sell this and get the thr10

Another vote for the mustang 1 here.

I had one, and gave it to my old man when he bought a guitar.

Great little bit of kit with masses of options through fender fuse, loads of amp models and effects.

At the other end of the scale is the micro terror. No bells and whistles, but chock full of kickass!

Just bought myself the fender mustang 1 v2 in silver. Should get it on Thursday, was finding that the irig was too delayed from playing the note to hearing the note which was getting in way of enjoyment.

Will trying to learn and not walk before I can run so practising chords and scales but its so tempting to put on a Clapton CD and try to keep up!!
