Anyone have any opinions of these guys? I'm going to take my sisters Saab there tomorrow with a view to getting it fixed but need to know what they're like.

From the initial impression they seem nice a nice bunch, but then you have Saabtech in Welwyn/Hatfield and I'm not sure how they compare.

I'm taking the Saab there tomorrow morning so any information would be valuable.

Can't comment on TDC, but I have used Saabtech in Welwyn Garden City for the last 5 years and have had excellent (if not the cheapest) service.

SaabTech are well known to be one of the best if not the best Saab specialist out there. They aren't that far from St. Albans. For piece of mind, I would just go to SaabTech. They looked after my 93 when I had it. Yes, they aren't the cheapest, but they did me a deal on big bills smile

I wouldn't mind using Saabtech if I had an Aero but the car is just a 1.8t Vector with 126k on the clock.

I just wanted it to be presentable and reliable enough to last me 18 odd months so can't really justify Saabtechs prices.

Anyway, TDC are due to take the 9-3 Vector on Thursday morning to fix a few bits on it.

After a recent experience I would recommend that you do not use TDC. I criticized some work they did for me that I had to finish myself as they refused to believe they had made a mistake putting the steering wheel back on and got a fifteen minute rant on the phone telling me I didn't know what I was talking about. It seemed as though I was not the first person he had had that kind of conversation with.

Anyway he eventually hung up on me when I said the last thing I was going to do was discuss it face to face!

Funny this thread should come up again as I didn't update it from the first time.

I took the car to TDC who did the basics I had asked for, but there were other things they completely missed out like me asking for the plastic undertray to the front bumper to be rectified.

Not thinking much of it, and taking the car there a second time after a few months, the brake change they did was not up to scratch. They were sticking constantly for the next few hundred miles up until I found time to actually take the wheels off and sort them out again myself. One of the pads wasn't installed properly. My initial call to them regarding the brakes was brushed off as being completely normal with a little smoke being fine. Riiiiight...

I found them easy to deal with but quite keen to just get the expensive jobs done. Even after reassuring me they would do the minor jobs I asked.

Recently having taken the 9-3 to a local indy, he installed new brakes which were fine straight away. Weird but based on my experience I wouldn't take the trouble of going there again.
