I have just bought an MG from a dealer that had mopped it prior to sale. The fluid has run into all the gaps and dried. It's no problem removing it from around doors, bonnet, boot etc It's in gaps from around wing, sills and other non opening panels.
I am obviously going to have wet it in order to soften in order to remove the dried paste like substance.
I don't want to start spraying water into panel gaps on a semi laid up car this time of year. I was thinking of using a clear detail spray and cloth, is that as bad as water in terms of corrosion. Any other ideas before I attack the problem.

Cotton buds wetted with 50%IPA to 50% filtered water should do the trick

Assuming he doesn't mean India Pale Ale, then try isopropyl alcohol.

Best and fastest way to shift it completely is with a pressure washer, but if you don't want to get it wet at the moment and its being laid up perhaps you could leave for a while until the weather improves?

Isopropyl Alcohol. very cheap to buy and is great to have in your detailing kit as it has a great number of uses.

As for the pressure washer trick suggested above, I'd be very careful using one that close on the edge of a panel where the paint will be at It's thinnest. IPA is a much safer route to take

Care will be needed if you use IPA as it may damage new paint !!I've used it recently to strip paint off of a newly painted item.
