So who has bought one? There's little talk of them on here I test drove one a few months ago and thought it might be a good move after the Aventador!
Feedback would be good from new or prospective owner.

Cheers

Yep everyone here seems to hate them for some bizarre reason, there are several owners on here that I know that wont post anything as they are instantly told they are wrong and their car is obviously rubbish compared to everything else and so just don’t bother.
It just depends what you want from a car, I got one a few weeks ago after trying a few things. It looks much better in the flesh than photos, very futuristic; it really is not at all similar to a Gallardo if you park them next to each other which was a concern of mine having previously had a LP560. It really is a good looking car, more so than I was expecting. I’m about 700 hundred miles in so far so can't really do a full write up yet.

Few things that stand out, it feels really boring/normal in street mode very much like a normal car because it’s so well put together and docile. It concerned me a bit when trying it out, but what I think a lot of people don't get or even try is that if you push it and drive hard it seems to adapt and become a real animal and a lot of fun. This then seems to translate to lower speeds, it seems to learn what you want it to act like!

I don't think anyone is going to be disappointed with it being toned down, it’s not lethal as they have set the geo up to under steer a bit, but much less so than an Aventador but for on the road it is still lairy enough, but I think it would annoy you on a track if you constantly want it to slide, however I use it as a road car and don't ever get to the point it is likely to cause me a problem.

Gearbox makes aventador/gallardo look like it came from the dark ages and is probably my favourite bit of the car.

Can't really tell what the magnetic suspension stuff does, personally don't notice it doing anything obvious. Indicators on steering wheel are a bit annoying, but lights are fine. It’s nice it opens the valves fully in sport and corsa immediately rather than higher up the rev range. But too quiet on stock exhaust for me (but I like really loud), they offer a factory sport exhaust (hardware) but it’s over £8k, still thinking on that. Lots of pops and crackles which is a real crowd pleaser anyway.

Needs style pack, glass engine cover and not dynamic steering imo. Dynamic steering was terrible and ruined my experience on test day at track, however would be much less so for road use.

Oh and its freaky fast, 50-170 I pretty sure its quicker than my Aventador and pretty much anything out there, new car seems much, much faster than demo from a few months ago and test day car from last year (wonder if they have done a little something to make sure its competitive given the competition). Hoping to run it against a friend’s Speciale soon but I think it will be quicker in a straight line. It’s a great road car but if you’re going to hit the track a lot, Speciale is much more inclined for that sort of thing and fizzes all over the place. Horses for courses I guess, but too much for me to use even every weekend. Huracan is a much better road/roadtrip car Imo.

I haven't 100% bonded with it yet like I have with some cars instantly, it seems to take time (I don’t think you will get it on a 20 min test drive, ask for an experience day if you’re a serious buyer) but the more I ask of it the better it seems to get, I'm not raving about it yet but it just does everything very well which sort of detracts from the experience in a weird way as it stops you looking at it as an occasional special car because of its bad behaviour. It a funny world where better seems worse in a way.
All in all I’m happy with it hence why I bought it and wouldn’t swap it for any of the other current offerings; make of that what you will.

Nice proper honest ownership feedback there Jay, thank you.

And long time no speak bud, pop over to the dark side (S9) sometime and say hello, it's got nicely busy in there of late and about to get a relaunch

Thank you Topjay refreshingly honest. Reminds me of when I was looking at buying a 996 GT3RS Porsche. At the time there was a lot of haters, it was to harsh, water cooled so not a proper Porsche now you can't get one for less than a fortune..
For me it looks and sounds as good as the Aventador I think it's just time before it starts getting the love it deserves.

Thanks Topjay. Good feedback.

So many of the current reviews are in the TopGear 'slag it off' mode, and half the time they don't even checks the facts, and people then just reiterate them as if they are completely true, so nice to see some real-life feedback from an owner.

Well done.

They're letting cars other than 911s at 911 UK VMAX event at Dunsfold on 7th March. I'm sure you and you friend would have lots of fun running 0-300kph in a safe secure environment. Only £395

Email Joss if interested joss@autovivendi.com

That is a great review topjay, although I only had a test drive I would echo most of your points there. The gearbox is epic, the car seems to do everything supremely well, ultimately a little too well for me, it didn't quite feel Lambo enough.

I think you make an excellent point about the cars character evolving with more time under your belt, I probably should have driven it a lot more before making a decision.

And hands down, it is the loveliest looking thing on four wheels!

I'm not sure how it will get on against a Speciale but you'll have bags of fun finding out!

A friend of mine took delivery about a month ago, which was odd as the car arrived approx. 2 months early - which isn't the best sign.

However, he loves the car - and is a real petrol head. I am confused by some of the less than enthusiastic reviews from the press. The car looks and sounds sensational and fast doesn't begin to describe it.

I think this will be a slow burner of a car and in due course, once more and more people have driven them, will the interest increase.

sounds so similar to 12c
usable yet fast and furious when required.
Personally don't think it is an eye pleaser

The only problem I can see with the car is the solid rear cover, I think it looks every part the Lambo carrying on the tradition of excessive over the top looks. Personally I think it makes the Gallardo a bit plain. It's edging toward the V12 design.if it'd had the daft doors I'd have one already!

I think its been mentioned before on here, the faster deliveries are because the UK got 2-3 years allocation in the first 8 months that it wasn't supposed to, also reflected in the amount for sale, basically oversupply producing abnormal amounts of new cars around.

Factory dropped all their first years cars into the non US markets because the car hadn't been type approved to sell in the US in time. Most of the current production run is going to US, meaning supply here will be much more limited in future. Unfortunately its set the tone for the car here which is not necessarily mirrored in other markets.

There is 24 cars for sale on Dupont for the whole of the US market vs 81 Aventadors. Here it is 45 Huracan vs 37 Aventador on on PH classifieds both the UK numbers seem high in comparison, I would hazard a guess quite a few of the cars advertised on here don't actually exist even if they were for sale at some point, but who knows.

The glass cover is far more pleasing to the eye.
The daft doors played a big part in my decision to go 650S, it's a box I hadn't ticked.

Well, aside from the fact that if you sold both kidneys you wouldn't be around to own one I completely agree! The one I test drove was green and just standing next to it raised my heart rate. Beautiful looking car.

I think its a lovely looking car but was disappointed by the driving experience and interior.
Its too Germanic for my liking and not the wild animal everyone associates with a Lambo.

Must admit a glass engine cover and scissors doors would both add to the appeal but would still not make it as good as 488GTB or 650S spider.

Presumably the spyder will be a tin top but when is it due out ?
A lightweight special spyder may re-ignite my interest but could be 3 years away I'm guessing

Just to add, I am based in the US.... hence the early arrival was surprising.

V12 supercars tend to do much better in the US than other markets I have found. There is a considerable waiting list for the F12 over here and used 599's are plentiful.

Had my Huracan for 3 months now and really like it. You have to work out how to extract the best from it and that for me is part of the charm and the way a Lambo should be. When pushing really hard (track speeds) the handling is edgy and you are constantly balancing between understeer and oversteer, you have to provoke the car with your throttle and steering inputs but boy when you get it right not only is it great fun but blisteringly quick. Also an ex Aventador owner and agree with topjay the Huracan feels quicker to 150mph than Aventador. The gearbox is lightning quick and engine super strong with a lovely power delivery. Only car I've ever owned that can comfortably keep a Radical behind it over a full lap of Silverstone GP circuit so who says it doesn't work on track! Not sure why the bad press on these, having also owned direct competition (458/12C) I'd have the Huracan over the other 2. Looks amazing also in my eyes, esp in darker colours. I think once Lambo reduce UK allocation this year values should hold up at least as well as the class leading levels. I suggest if you want one don't fear - it's a proper little Lambo !

Thanks Kav1 good to hear it from the point of view of someone who actually drives their car properly as it's meant to be used.
