I'm going to have a strip of metal added between the main chassis and the outriggers that the seat will bolt onto. I didn't think much of the fact that the seat was only bolted to the fibreglass. Little bit of peace if mind when doing excessive speed. Saw just the thing on one of the threads on PH - good idea I thought.

Shopping list is coming along nicely and starting to add up - nevermind! Thanks.

I've looked into manifold wrapping and it seems to be more trouble than its worth as it might encourage cracking on the 'low grade stainless' manifolds. Anyone think this actually worth doing? If so how much is needed.

Heat shielding, anyone tried the kits this guy supplies: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/parts-and-p...

Only thing I forgot and I wish I'd changed, was to relocate the 100amp fuse

I wrapped mine and it certainly does reduce the under-bonnet temperature and heat soak, however it makes working anywhere near the manifolds really really horrible. For that reason alone I probably wouldn't bother again.

Yer, I've just fitted a full kit. No issues as far as I'm concerned. I supplied my own patterns and the fit was spot on.

Looks good. You needed to provide the templates just to make sure fit was perfect, rather than going with what he supplies?

After speaking to him on the phone it turned out that he only had engine bay templates, but in his own words they weren't that great. In addition I wanted to replace the crappy giant Dairylea slices in the tunnel, which at the time he didn't supply. Together we designed a spec for these, and I made templates for all the parts. He may still have my templates.

I'd suggest giving him a call to discuss, but be ready with a cup of tea as he does like a chat!

Ha, no problem we can have a chat. You are happy that you went down this route then compared to alternatives? Other than fit, these feel like quality items which won't deteriorate?

If you're free tomorrow (Saturday) Adam, I'll be in the workshop which is halfway between Peterborough & Thrapston on the A605. You're more than welcome to pop over and have a chat/look. The body is back on now but there's still plenty to see.
