Water Injection definitely works well on mine, it stopped the intermitant det I was getting with high inlet temps in the summer. I was told to use 50/50 Methanol & Water but greater than 40% Methanol and its becomes part of the fuel which gets tricky as Methanol runs much richer at 6.0:1. I buy 50/50 and mix it with distilled water to about 25/75. I'm also swapping my flywheel out for a 500 unit, its 3.5kg lighter than my old one. Just waiting for it to neutrally balanced with new a 340ft/lb clutch.

I think its the wrong engine to SC - yes you can get silly amounts of power but the car is not (without huge work) ready for 500+bhp - but the 5 is a weak engine already, so without rebuilding the internals (also at huge costs) is it really worth it?

I still think the 4.5 (or even better the 4.3) make the best starting point for SC.
What are your thoughts on the 4.6 litre ?

I agree with Alex, the moaning is getting tiresome rolleyes

Jammy's woes could be as innocent as a catalog of naive choices and pish poor project management, it could also be he's been genuinely & astonishingly unlucky.

No doubt Jammy has been the victim of one criminal/shyster, but the list of contractor issues does seem to go on and on....and on.

The bottom line is he's either the unluckiest man in the world, or there's a bit more to it than we know scratchchin

Jammy does come across as a nice guy in cyber land, but has anyone actually met in the real world?

Whatever the truth is I do wish him all the best with his project, but there always comes a point when the "I'm The Victim" speech should stop.

Anyone who starts a project like that needs to take on the role of project manager and accept there are going to be some big challenges, if you're not mechanically minded like Jammy you better contract the project out to someone skilled you trust unequivocally.

Either that or be prepared to drop your pants and to get stocked up on KY Jelly eek
Genuinely nice guy...

he probably meant the 4.6 and not 4.5. The 4.6 is the best engine to do anything with smile

My Dad picked up the car Monday - apart from the fact the trailor was stuck in the mud - after much digging + pulling it is now safely back at Dad's workshop. Photos to follow.

Wish it was this easy...

Does the water injection mean you can run more boost ? Is the lighter flywheel going to make much difference ?

We wont run any more boost but keeping the head temps well down means we might run a bit more advance see how it all pans out on the rollers.

only got half a day on the chim but progressing nicely with getting the gearbox out, rear arb off, exhaust off, gearbox mounting off, centre console out, gearstick off, slave cylinder off, also got the top off the dash ready for the water injection gauge and wiring and all but the top bellhousing bolts out so out easily in the morning.
