Tam catching on lock with 225/40/18's
Discussion
Just wondering if anyone as any thoughts with the front tyres catching on 3/4 - full lock on the tam? the tyres are Kumho KU36's similar profile to R1R's
When moving it around the yard it seems to be catching on 3/4 to full lock(getting more of a judder, they put it over the pit for a better look but everything seems OK with nothing obvious, any thoughts?? anyone using such as R1R's and had similar probs........

"New" R1Rs do "kiss" the front arches at the lower outer edges. They did originally also rub on the headlight covers, but after re-fitting/sealing, no further rubbing?
Get some miles under your belt and the rubbing will stop as the "tread" wears?
Some are worse than others, clearly! I doubt it will cause any real issues?

I have vredestein sessantas of that size on the front and they dont rub on my 04 tam. My tam is at proper ride height, a lot of them are way too low and I guess this may compound the issue.
It is also said that they have quite varying arch areas, even from one side of the car to the other, so luck probably has something to do with it.
Also the shape of the tire... some have squarer profiles to others.

This is really odd, the tams been over the pit (again)lock to lock with no visible signs of catching, it does get close to the light cover on the drivers side but it doesn't seem to be catching anywhere, its due to go in for a geo which ill bring forward and see if they can see anything when its on there ramp:-(
Just to add the tyres are really clean with no scuff marks on them & same under the arches, so no tell tale signs. Just a thought? would it be a poss with using a taller profile tyre & a little wider (semi slick) could it alter the geo? my Dad reckons when he upped the wheel/tyre size on his then Renault Turbo 2 and using 888's that did something similar, it isn't like a catching noise its a BIT like having the same feeling as a LSD on a fwd car (so ive been told) :-)hope the above makes some sense :-)
