Just ended up in the pit wall, track was incredibly wet at that point, so I don't think it would have taken much of an error at all or much particular speed to end up like that.

Both driver and passenger of bmw ok, car didn't look too bad to me, apparently a slow impact and they have insurance thankfully!

Great to meet some new faces and such a relief my car didn't go bang!

When checking the oil before leaving it had used some - never done this before so thought the worst but it lasted ok... Imagine the reason will mean spending lots ... frown

My friend only managed 2 laps in his r35 gtr before it ran low on oil pressure and killed the engine frown

Someone we were chatting to in the pits reversed into one of the iron pillars too frown

I was a bit disappointed with the amount of track time, spending that much on a track day to only really do the morning wasn't ideal.

Still enjoyed it thoughsmile

Amazing to see the La Ferrari and other various exotics.

This Lexus LFA was impressivesmile

Anyone else get any footage?

That's awesome footage Sam, brilliant to see an LFA out on track and you gave us a nice long view of it too!

I'm very impressed with how lively your R32 is, somehow I expected it to be a bit front-limited, but it looks really neutral and happy to play. You certainly know how to pedal it biggrin

Good vid! Pedaling very nicely! smile

We have some V-Box footage from the Funcup car (it wasn't me driving when you went past in that run wink), but I don't have a copy of it yet, I'll put it up on Youtube when I do!

Thanks Sam! smile

Yeah it's quite the lively thing, if only I could tame it!!

It could do with some decent tyres as they're only street tyres and after one lap they get too hot and start sliding everywhere.. Brilliant fun but a bit frustrating when trying to go quick for more than 2 mins!

The Lexus was really impressive, I dont think he was any quicker on the straights - just everywhere else! Good to see it, never seen one beforesmile

Yep, track rubber will make a MASSIVE difference... but it will then start to expose other weaknesses, particularly in suspension, and brake set-up.

slippery slope smile

That said, I'd spend money on tyres, suspension and brakes before I'd spend any on power.

Absolutelysmile

As you say though it always shows up the weak link.. I've been advised not to use anything too grippy due to oil surge. Wiuld like to try a set of R888's or similar but wouldn't want to corner hard in case I broke it!

Slippery slope indeed!

Fun to watch! I'll bet the LFA was disappointed that you went on cool down straight after passing. He probably pulled over to watch you from behind. biggrin

Hehe - he probably slowed down because his tyres and brakes were in nearly as bad a state as mine! wink

Some good driving there Sam ! Yes it was me - first incident Ive had in 6 years of doing Trackdays but only second time out in the M3.

Had been a brilliant morning and was great to see a real mix of cars from the LaFerrari and LFA to the Atom Race cars.

Reflecting on what happened - Its clear I made a lot of the mistakes they warned us about in the initial briefing. i.e going out on track when I was tired. This was my second outing in the M3 and I obviously need more practice controlling sudden oversteer.

Coming out of club corner, lost grip at the rear, was slow to correct and panicked and slammed on the brakes. It was quite a slow impact around 25mph but enough to take out the front right wing, bumper and bonnet.

I did take out Trackday insurance, although not for the full value of the car and am dealing with the loss adjuster at the moment.

Can anyone recommend a great bodyshop - I live in S. London, preferably one that is BMW Approved. I don't want to post a photo of my car yet as its too painful but this pic is quite close:

Thanks for your kind words - Driver and passenger ok.
