Hello after much thought and bad luck on viewing cars, I have decided to to look to japan for a car. I have a budget of around £5k-£6k not wanting to spend much more due to it being used as a every day car.The car will mostly be used for short journeys (5-10miles daily) and the odd long tip/blast. I have been told that it would be best to look at a na car due to my short drives. some friends have advised some cars such as integra, celica ss3(i know about the bills for ss),prelude, nissan pulsar vzr, silva altech. They did say i could try and have a turbo but they said they wouldnt advice it due to the sort diving i do. But if i did want to risk it they did say a r32 gtst <3 would fit my range.

has anyone had experience of the cars above? what would be the best advice for me? is there any other cars to look at? ideally want a 90s jap so please dont advise me on some golf or polo

thanks for you help. sorry to sound nooby

Have you thought of a 4-door Skyline? They came with a 2.0L N/A engine iirc so you do get some sort of mpg out of it rather than the turbo'd ones wink You could try for an N/A Stagea? There is that guy in the readers car with a Toyota Chaser, or if you want something more modern there's Nissan Cerfiro if you wanted something plain looking.

For the Skyline's HR then the model code are what you'd want to look for I believe (so HR34 for the 34 age, or HR32/33 etc)

If you want an idea get signed up to jdmauctionwatch and then have a look around, you can filter auctions by model code and it will give you some information on engine etc.

Good luck

CTR or Accord 2.4, maybe dc2 will suffice... basically there's no need to import when there's a wealth of good cars to be had on this side of the world.

The Jap Civic type R's are a fair bit more manic to drive than the ones we got here - they are also 4 seaters, NA, are practical, very reliable, can pootle to work in them and also cane the living daylights out of them.. they fit your bill nicely

thanks for the advise so far guys. sadly cant have a 4 door due to the size of the drive frown there is a nice nissan pulsar vzr that come up, looks clean, and grade 3.5. i am really tempted on a celica ss3-ss2 what would people advise to get? although i might look into a teg aswell. but for now what would you advice celica or pulsar?

Pulsar as it's more practical and tbh u will probably have just as much fun in the pulsar and for less money I would have thought.
