Coming up for a year of ownership, so need to think about renewing my insurance

Aside from the usual place I get my insurance (admiral), where else should I try.

I'm 23, 5 years ncb and a pesky student. Insurance is difficult.

Quotes So far:

Admiral: £350 (6k agreed value)
Adrian flux: £6200 !!
Aviva: £900

Anywhere else I should try before renewing with admiral?

Call Footman James and Quote "TVR White Elephant Supporters Club" and they will give you a further 10% discount on your classic car policy.

I use them for the Elephant with an agreed valuation and get a really good deal yes

My boy is 23. He's in full time employment with a very well known accoutancy firm, drives a brand new Mercedes company car and will soon be a fully qualified accountant. He has a clean licence and several years no claims and wants to drive my Wedge, but so far all we've had are rediculous quotes or total refusal due to age. If there are any companies out there that will insure him, bearing in mind we live in London, please let us know. We have tried many companies but all say minumum age 25, though we have not tried Admiral but we'll give them a go.

I'm with RH and the pay about £170, unfortunately quite a bit older than 23 though! but that quote from Admiral does seem good for that age.

I use Elephant Insurance...As I'm old enough to be your dad...Son...You would automatically think..."Hey i bet that old fart gets cheap classic car insurance"...Wrong!..I live in the Lebanon, Whoops i mean the London..South of.....And for me in a high crime area....Hold up...There goes another waster off the top of the tower block ..Fully compo..No second scroatbox ..No Garahj or Drive-On-Drive-Off ..Wer'e talking "Street vibe man"..with nono claims..Unlimited mileage...International rescue...Courtesy car and an agreed value of 5K on my "Mean street slap mama co's she a ho ride" with "Contents" insurance and legal cover...Oh and some 30p money off vouchers for pound land...£460....So think yourself lucky innit...

Actually i lied about the Tower block...It was the new vicar jumping off the old haunted church roof...We narf go through some vicars...Strange place....

Admiral will do an agreed value Classic policy if you phone them up. They have been very reasonable with me when I took out the policy at 22 thumbup

We've just had a quote from Admiral for me and my 23 year old included at 1k. It's a lot of money but I'm impressed that they haven't turned us away like so many others.

If they will cover you (due to your age)

I couldnt be happier with how they dealt with my claim when my other wedge died.
Only took 2 or3 weeks for the money to hit my bank after they agreed to pay out

Just renewed with Lancaster insurance, 3000 mile allowance, £357 with agreed valuation certificate.
It's about the same as I paid last year on my SEAC.

I am with RH and have been for a long time but they won't include my 23 year old at any price.

I got insurance for my 280i through Lancaster Insurance, and at the time was a student, although a few years older. When I was trying to get insurance, it seemed to be being a student that some found the problem, it got to that point and they were just no. Think it was around £170 inc breakdown cover, for 3000 miles at the time.

I'm with Admiral for my Wedge on an agreed value classic policy...........OK I've got my other car with them, I've got maximum NCB and I'm 58 but I paid £148. (no mileage limit) I couldn't get any of the other companies anywhere near that.
As an aside, I've got my son and daughter on my multi car policy with them and they were good for that too.
I've got no affiliation to them by the way..........

Went into my local brokers. "What's a TVR, what make is it?" he said.

After a long time on the phone to Admiral and using multi car and agreed value and heavy excess, we have managed to bring the premium down to just under £400 to cover me and my 23 year old. Now that's not bad and I'm considering taking it out as no other insurance company has even come close with a young driver on board. Nice one Paul. Thanks.
