Can't keep quiet anymore!!!!!!!!!

We spent a fabulous few hours up at Gaydon last Thursday seeing our new Aston in the early stages of its build. Having been lucky enough to see our current one in build back in 2012 that one was very close to being nearly finished whereas this one was very early in the production run but very easy to spot - for reasons which will become clear 
After many months of trying to decide whether we should buy a classic Aston or go for a new one we went against all investment sense and ordered a new V12 Vantage S Roadster. Whilst I would have loved to have gone for a DB7 Zagato or a V550 what we really wanted was one that we wouldn't mind putting miles on and not feel the need to keep it down to low mileage to maintain value. Our decision was to go for fun!!!!!
I know we already have a V12 Vantage Roadster and am very pleased to say we will be keeping that one but perhaps doing a few less miles each year in it, although we already have one European tour booked for it. You may question getting something so similar but we absolutely love the car we have at the moment! It's been great on tour, we love open top motoring and the noise of the V12 is just immense
The new one will look a bit different to the existing one. It will be Flugplatz Blue with a Dark Knight interior and California Poppy accents & stitching. It will have black lightweight wheels, lightweight seats, lots of CF outside and Q are putting a full carbon fibre centre stack for us. The only thing I don't like about the current car is the PB fascia and that is also being swapped to full CF as well. A great BOGOF deal - well not quite!
The new one looked fantastic on the line and our thanks to Steve, who gave us the factory tour, and took us back to the car on four times to see it moving down the line and to let us take some pictures for the cars history file which was very much appreciated and will give us some fantastic memories. The icing on the cake was seeing the GT3 in the flesh
Lloyd at Grange in Exeter has once again looked after us fantastically - this is the fourth time he has relieved us from our money - and now can't wait for it to arrive which will hopefully be in the next 2/3 weeks.

Many congratulations on what sounds a very exciting and outstanding motor car.
I was only looking at Lancaster's Flugplatz Blue Roadster last week and thinking dare I…………………..
We shall look forward to seeing all the pictures of what will be a truly epic Roadster in due course, but for now be patient and enjoy the anticipation.
I can feel a trip to Devon coming on to admire this beast btw.

Out of interest what swing you away from a "classic" Aston?
Hi Rich, Out of interest what swing you away from a "classic" Aston? Really came down to we want to do 8/9k miles per annum in the Aston. Want to keep the mileage down on the V12VR to 3/4k miles per annum and felt if we went down the classic route that wouldn't work for us. Then it came down to just having fun
nice purchase great choice. cant help thinking though Ian moving the old one on would be my bet.
"you dont want to do a lot of mileage in it now" which is perfect for a classic and then if you bought either of the ones you mentioned (top choices) then it counter balances the depreciation in the new one and reduces the further depreciation in the first one you are going to still have.
i have my money hat on at the moment of course but you then have a dramatic contrast between the cars and opens up a whole new social group with new and old.
my 2 cents is all and i am more than sure you thought long and hard before the plunge and it isnt like you cant change your mind either.

I know the car your talking about from Burghley as it was a demonstrator being shown off by Simon Lane and his team from Lancaster Cambridge………….and didn't it look well in the sun.
Its a giant leap from the classic Tungsten of your original V12 Roadster but one I could live with I'm sure,how cool is that to have to decided which Roadster to take to get the papers on a Sunday morning…..

I'll give you a shout when we venture down the M5 this Summer to admire the stable you lucky man.

The Lancaster Flugplatz Blue car was being completed when I went on my first factory visit. I loved the colour but not enough to pay extra for it over and above Lightning Silver or Mako Blue, in truth that was a convenient excuse for my lack of bottle for a DD. By the way I also love the California Poppy accents, saw that on a Q car whilst I was there as well. It is going to look stunning. Really stunning.
Then on my second visit I also saw my car just going on the line. My regret is I took rubbish pictures but I have them and I will never forget finding each piece of the car, bodyshell, drivetrain, dashboard, seat trim etc. just wonderful.

Hi Russell, your points are well made but at the end of the day we followed our hearts.
