Ok this is a bit of an odd one.

My Dad has just passed away leaving an Alfa 156GTA to be sold. It also has a private plate connected to it which is worth a couple of grand. The car is currently out of mot and requires around 1k to fix it. What do I do?

See if anyone wants to buy the car complete with plate for a fair price, or fix the car and sell the plate separately?

Car is bodily in good condition and just had a major service. The mot failure is due to exhaust and cat mainly, plus a few other minors. its on 96k at the moment and i belive its super chipped too.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad.

re the GTA, I suggest you dig up the relevant service history and any modifications/upgrades/cambelt history, etc and post along with decent photos on the the following forum

http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-gta/

before you post up, i would suggest you rtead throughthe buyers guide on that forum first as it allow you to anticipate the questions before they arise - if your intention s to gauge opinion and sell the car that is probably where I would start.

I think I'd separate out the plate too, it will mean nothing to the next owner so won't enhance the value of the car much. You will probably get more for the plate separately than attached to the car.

Again, sorry for your loss, your Father must have been a man of great taste.

Sorry to hear about your father.

I would remove the plate and sell the car privately.

I would be interested in buying the GTA and restoring it to it's former glory.

Happy to buy in current condition if the price is right.
