I know most of you guys service these cars yourselves but do you actually keep a manual / record of the service history for re sale value ?

Yes indeed. Also to remind myself when oil, brake fluid, coolant etc. was last changed so I know when to do it again.

As you say important for re-sale too, not that I plan to sell her!

Can't say I record my work on the car. The oil is changed annually (every 2 to 4K miles).

Tappets require no attention.

I would point an future buyer to this site and my postings for information (along with an enormous pile of invoices).

With just over 2 years of ownership & 3,800 miles, road & one track day covered with a LS7 for me its oil & filter change every 12 months. Car was given a full service by the factory when acquired. In that time have completed an air filter clean & checked the brakes. One thing I haven't done is change the coolant. What is the recommended here, considering I top it now and again when required? I grease the gear rod links regularly. The rest is dealt with while tinkering, loose drive shaft boot cover for example.

What coolant do you have circulating in the system?

I'm away from the garage for a while, but I believe its Halfords off the shelf OAT coolant concentrate, mixed approx 50/50 with de-ionised water.

Thanks Jim. Just wanted to know if you are using some fancy stuff in the cooling. I assume that most modern type engines with alloy blocks and heads need to be protected from corrosion.
