Barthelona !

I'm soon to be going to Barcelona for a long weekend with Mrs Loughran to absorb as much Gaudi as possible. (we need a new front door and I need inspiration.)

We've never been before so a recommendation for anything you enjoyed last time you were in Barcelona would be appreciated. I've managed to get a table for lunch at Disfrutar and booked tickets for Casa Batllo and Sagrada Familiar, other than that we were just planning to wander round for a few days.

Hire out a 50cc scooter from this company, by far the best way to see the city. I did it last year and it was brilliant. Not very expensive either.

Use the open top bus for the day, an ace way to get about and you can hop on/off at leisure.

Yes, wife and I went to Barcelona three years ago for a week and yes I have a post here somwehere. Stayed at the Hotel Monte Carlo, really central for all we needed, and a good hotel too. Used the tourist bus (4 different routes) to get around as it goes close to all you may wish to see.

Before we left we booked a half day walk in the Old Town for the day after we arrived: excellent intro to Barcelona.

Don't overlook the food market on Las Ramblas, really amazing and good for lunch there too.
