They were also 100% certain that Christopher Jefferies killed Joanna Yeates, to the point of making statements which were unquestionably libellous. PH's in-house detectives don't exactly have a stellar reputation in this regard.

I'm not completely up to date with motivations for murder of young people - is it usually a sexual motive?
I don't recall Huntley abusing his victims, but then didn't follow the case.
I don't understand what chain of events would lead to the murder of a young girl by a family... assuming it was family.
