So not the father then?, but the wads on here said it was him...
They were also 100% certain that Christopher Jefferies killed Joanna Yeates, to the point of making statements which were unquestionably libellous. PH's in-house detectives don't exactly have a stellar reputation in this regard.

Why do people bring up Jefferies like it's the be all and end all?

What about Tia Sharpe? Mikael Kular? Shannon Matthews?

All examples of kids who were victims of people close to them.

Well, the death penalty in the USA has made a huge difference - crime levels are much lower over there. Oh, wait...

Sentencing rarely deters crime, becuase scrotes either don't think they will be caught, or don't think.
Have you considered the so called "high USA crime rate", is due to police actually recording crimes properly and catching offenders rather than slapping them on the wrist and sending them on their way.
The homicide with a firearm rate is 40 times higher in the US than it is here (on a population- adjusted basis). Crimes are "recorded" crimes not "solved" crimes. Don't think the BiB give you a slapped wrist for that over here.

The USA's homicide rate is 111th in the world per head, higher than the UK's indeed, but we don't have a borderline failed state (mexico) and massive drug/gang problems on our borders.

The UK, no. The EU? Different matter.

The uncle of missing teenager Becky Watts has spoken exclusively tonight to ITV News following the arrest of two people on suspicion of her alleged kidnap and murder.

Speaking on behalf of Becky's father Darren, to end speculation and rumour, Sam Galsworthy said no-one on his side of the family had any connection to her disappearance.

Reading a statement, sitting beside Becky's grandfather John and step-grandmother Denise, he said: "We want to make it absolutely clear that no member of Darren's side of the family are implicated in any way.

"Every family member who was part of our search for Rebecca still remains with us.

"We are aware that this is an ongoing investigation and cannot say anymore.

"We can't thank the public enough for their support. Please respect our privacy now as we process this information.
There's a few comments on the Avon and Somerset facebook page that claim family members have posted, then deleted, comments claiming a body has been found. Also, rumours the step brother and his girlfriend are the ones who've been arrested.

That statement rather heavily implies it's someone from the other side of the family doesn't it?!

I follow the hashtag #findbecky on Twitter and there's someone who has been inferred is a cousin of Becky saying a body has been found in the Southmead area.

There's also someone on there called "TechInjection" who keeps on about where to look for the body. Seriously weird posts....

I'm not completely up to date with motivations for murder of young people - is it usually a sexual motive?

I don't recall Huntley abusing his victims, but then didn't follow the case.

I don't understand what chain of events would lead to the murder of a young girl by a family... assuming it was family.
