It's not a game of fking Cluedo.

A young women has lost her life in pretty horrendous circumstances.

Do we NEED to speculate? Does it serve any real purpose? Or is it just morbid curiosity?

People need an outlet sure, so RIP and expressions of disbelief are understandable, beyond that and really it just detracts from my second sentence.
Maybe you should be questioning why you're here then?

I think people speculate as they try to understand what could have driven someone to do such a thing. Neither the speculators nor the holier-than-thou brigade will bring back the poor girl - makes toss all difference.

Because I live a not far from where these arrests were made.

I'm interested in facts, not gruesome speculation.

Maybe the BBC News and Avon & Somerset Police websites would be best for verifiable facts then!

Nathan Matthews, 28, has been charged with murder. He's Becky Watts' step-brother.
Shauna Hoare, 21, has been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice. She is Matthews' girlfriend.

These two will appear at Bristol Mags Court tomorrow.

The other five (three of which are brothers, unrelated to Hoare and Matthews) remain in custody after the courts granted police another 24 hours to question them.
I'm assuming the three brothers are those named yesterday in the papers. Karl Demetrius is the partner of Jaydene ? and his twin brother and a third brother were also pictured yesterday.

I take your point there Toxicnerve.

I have no issue with the discussion around known events but as you say the phraseology hasn't been very tasteful and a reminder of the awful reality is sometimes needed when people appear to be almost gleefully indulging in someone elses misery.

As you say though 'tis the internet.

Father has been posting some very disturbing stuff on bacefook.

I have my own suspicions........
What might they be ?

TVR1 said:
My money is on the Father.

He is doing the classic 'diversion tactic'. Indeed, where on earth did he glean the information about her being 'on'? I can't imagine any teenage girl discussing that with her Father? His request for wives and girlfriends to check partners underwear for blood would suggest he has some knowledge of that. Also, in these cases, it's pretty unheard of for the parents to even contemplate, let alone publicly declare they think the child is dead/raped etc-unless they know otherwise.

The white van thing is a red herring.

Finally, the possessions. Does anyone seriously think she left the house of her own accord without her purse and makeup-the father didn't think of these things 'cos he's a man.. The electronics went but they are things that could damn the fathers account of timings of her disappearance.

He's in it up to his neck.
Anything to add...like an apology t the poor man!!

So the father was faking it then ?

Another strange quote, this time from the girl's grandfather who says that the father won't be helping with the search due to his "frantic emotional state".

I completely agree, PH at it's worst.

So many on here call people scum and filth just on the basis of an article from the Daily Mail when they have already apologised for posting a link to the Daily Mail.

It saddens me, this used to be a place where people engaged their brains.

People just get carried away behind the cloak of anonymity that this forum gives.

I bet they'd say nothing of the sort in public, to their friends or on Facebook etc

That's more than discussing the possibility that the father was involved in some way. Sounds more like an unsubstantiated accusation of murder to me.

So anyway... the stepbrother has now been charged and remanded. his girlfriend has also been remanded and charged with perverting the course of justice, specifically, consistently lying to the police.

It's one thing murdering someone. It's something else to dismember them. It takes a certain kind of mentality to take that step beyond and it is one hell of a step beyond.

Needless to say, in a year or so, when this case comes to court and the full details of this will be public domain, if anything the truth will be even grimmer than conjecture. Such a ridiculous waste of lives.
