I've finally managed to persuade my dad to come back to Le Mans after his one and only visit in 2003. That time we took a bus tour but I've camped pretty much every year since and that's what we are doing this year.

I have already booked a non-numbered pitch on Houx but now that my dad is coming I'm considering hiring a camper van as it will hopefully be a little more comfortable than sleeping in a tent! I'm thinking something along the lines of a VW T5 or similar and I was hoping someone might be able to recommend a hire company. We are based in Worcestershire by the way. Thanks in advance!

Thanks very much Icepop! Most of the prices I've seen seem to start around £600 for a week. I may just stick with an inflatable mattress!

A bit leftfield, but there was a Groupon or Wowcher code flying around a couple of weeks ago - 1 week caravan rental, 750 or 1000 miles max mileage I think, about £250.

As with all these things the devil is in the detail, and disappointment lurks in large dollops, but maybe worth keeping your eyes open.

It is also possible to hire a caravan in the Le Mans area and have it delivered to site for you. I'm not sure of the name(s) of possible suppliers because it was organised through a car club for my friends in 2008. Might be a lower cost but more comfortable option for you?

Oh wow what sounds good. I had no idea you could get that done!

you could try Camperking near Stratford on Avon who rent modern VW campers - they not only hire but also build them. You ought to be aware that there are quite a few events on in the UK on the same weekend as LM15 btw.
